We are thinking very far ahead and throwing around names for our next kid (plan to ttc in about 3 yrs).
For a girl we like the name Nöel (pronounced No-Ell, like French for christmas), but I need some middle names for it. Last name is Nicholas.

PS I don't like boring names like Ann and Lynn. But I also don't like too off the wall names like Pilot Inspektor or Quandalita or whatever.

PSS Our only kid right now is a girl named Penelope Abra Nicholas

well i suggested that to dh but he prefers the accurate french spelling and that is fine w/me. he wants to include the oomlot too.

Not trying to be snarky, but the accurate French spelling of the feminine form is Noëlle, not Noël. Also, the diaeresis goes on the e not the o. It's not an umlaut, it's there to show that you pronounce the two vowel sounds separately.

noel nicholas sounds nice if it werent for the christmas connotation. maybe her middle name should be merry or holly. sorry, i had to.

i am not a huge fan of the name pronounced noelle, however you spell it, but i think i kind of prefer what you are saying, noel with the umlaut.

Haha, maybe, but I like it anyways. Plus, we LOVE christmas.
So far it is one of the only names that my DH has liked. He shoots down so many, so when I find one that we both like, I am just glad about that. And Noel has always been one of my favorite names... I just ended up with a christmasy last name to deal with. haha.
