Can someone tell my significant other that he is officially weird? I discovered his baby name list and here are some of the highlights:

Dido (f)
Andromeda (f)
Cuisses (m)
Giles (m)

WDYT? Because although I like how some of them sound, I think most of them are not that great for actual names, but I need some backup here, because he seems determined =)

EDIT: Well I told him some opinions and he crossed Dido and Cuisses off his list, haha, so we're down to Andromeda and Giles now I guess. He usually has such good taste--he claims this is his guilty pleasures list, but I still want to avoid these names. Your opinions are great, keep 'em coming.

-Having read the Aeneid, Dido is an unfortunate character to be named after. She doesn't have the happiest life. It sounds okay, but the connotations are bad.

-Andromeda is kind of a guilty pleasure name of mine, but I would never really use it on a kid.

-Cuisses sounds nice, but I looked it up and it's a kind of armor worn on the thigh.

-I like Giles okay.

Cuisses is also the French word for thighs. So your kid could pretty much never go to France or anywhere French speaking because everyone would be like WTF.

Dido is way too much like dildo for me to ever like it as a child's name. I don't like any of the other names either.

I like Andromeda, albeit as a guilty pleasure designated to being a middle name only. It's pretty if you pair it right with a more low-key name. :)

Though yeah, the others are weird. Tell him that Dido won't do, because once the kids in her class take sex ed they'll be asking her if she has a dildo. :(

It's funny he usually has pretty good choices in names. Some of my favorites have been suggested by him (James Dietrich, Felix) but this must be his guilty pleasure list, because they're weird.

haha I just made a post about my hubby wanting to name our baby after himself. His name is Jason and his middle name is Giles.. :) I'm not too happy about the Giles part so thats my hurdle right now. :)

I actually quite like Andromeda and Giles, although I don't think I would actually ever use them. The only one I would be vehemently opposed to is Dido, simply because of the Virgil connotations.
