Apr. 29th, 2006 09:22 amI am so happy to have found this community. I have always loved baby names. I don't have any children at the moment, but do have 5 cats. Shiloh, Autumn, Sasha, Sawyer and Samson. It's just a coincidence that most start with "S".
What do you think of when you hear your name, or any name for that matter?
I see colours when I hear names. Is that weird? Some would say yes, but I think I've always been this way. Sometimes, its not even just one colour, it could be a combination of colours, or sometimes, I even see sparkles.
Shiloh=grey/black
Autumn=mustard yellow/burgundy
Sasha=white/grey
Sawyer=grey/navy blue
Samson=White
My name is Michelle=red

Date: 2006-04-29 06:50 am (UTC)I can see the connection between the names and the colours you see, though. I would DEFINITELY see Sasha as a white or grey and Shiloh as a grey or black. With my own favourite names, I can think of Kate as a strong purple, and Sam as a navy or light blue. But it takes thought and I don't actually see the colours. (Sadly.) I almost immediately associate names with literary and cinematic characters, though. It's the first thing I think of even if I know someone by that name.

Your cats' names are wonderful.
With my rabbit's names ...
Branwen = deep purple
Casey = blue
(where possible I use those colour font when typing their names, also think those colours suit their personalities)
