Considering Ricky latin backgound I think the names were more inspired on that, they are very common spanish names (spelled correctly too! props for him). So, this is why I think the Valtentino thing makes more sense in spanish.
I like the nickname Tino for a boy. I went to school with a Tino. His brother Joey was really Guiseppe. I think I spelled that wrong. Giuseppe? Anyways, now I'm curious if Tino was his full name, or if it was short for something...

Two famous namesakes are stylist Valentino (known for his queer looks) and Valentino Rossi, motorbike celebrity, but not the most macho man alive.
I just find it odd considering it in the same picture with the gay rumors around Ricky Martin himself.
