I don't like that spelling very much. It reminds me of asteroid. Astrid isn't my style either though so I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference how it is spelled.
I oddly like Key, but I think it would have to be a nickname for something. I wouldn't just name my kid that.
I have a feeling they heard the names somewhere and spelled them wrong. Key is probably derived from Kai, which is a German name. It's probably found in other European countries too, but the Kais I've met are German.
Asterid does remind me of asteroid, which is a shame because I think that Astrid is a very pretty name. I'm surprised that I don't hate Key but that said, I don't like it either.
