I am not pregnant yet, but husband and I love picking out baby names and hopefully we will get pregnant in 2009!  So I need help with boy names.  Our girl list is waay too long, but our boy list is pathetically short.  Dad-to-be is Thad Harrison.

I like names that start with vowels.  I like traditional names, but not COMMON names.  My favorite so far is Oliver.  Elliot is my runner-up.

ETA:
Other family names: Andrew Montgomery, Peyton Yates, Brian David, Dale Lynn, Lennie Simmons, David Alemaine, Philip Joseph, Claude, Stuart Warwick.

I like both of those names, although I like Elliot better than Oliver.

A few ideas:

Anders
Arthur
Asher
Ethan
Evan

There was a kid in my class named Anders when I was little. I think it's Scandinavian? Like the first part of Anderson. :)

I like Archer. But I'm in Australia, and I'm thinking it's a bit r-heavy if you're American/Canadian. We say it more or less AAH-chuh.

Which I am, hehe. It's funny, normally I really dislike R's in the middle of names (like Charlotte), but I don't mind the excessive R's here.

Lol, it would probably be fine in Boston, where I am. We drop our Rs, too!

I love Oliver and Elliot. I think Elliot Andrew would sound really good, if you wanted to go with family names.

Suggestions:

Benjamin
Adrian
Henry
Vincent
Simon
Isaac
Caleb
Emmett
Miles
Ezra

I think we have the same taste in names -- traditional yet not common. And Oliver is one of the few boys names I've chosen as well. I'd be interested to see your girl list!

Also, I never use to like Elliot, but its been growing on me lately. :)

i really like thad harrison actually. oliver and elliot are definitely traditional and classic, but unfortunately they're going to be common once your son is in school. maybe you can use one of them as a middle name? but if you don't mind him having a popular name, i really like elliot.

(Not all of them start with vowels, obviously, but I thought I'd throw them in anyway).
