Which one do you prefer?
Dec. 6th, 2008 06:35 pmBetween Joshua Alexander and Jordan Alexander ?
We're in Italy, so some of the pronunciations are different:
Alexander = Alek-SAHN-der
Jordan = JAWR-dahn
Last name starts with L, 3 syllables, final syllable contains double S
The settled name for a girl is Alma, middle name to be determined.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Date: 2008-12-06 05:41 pm (UTC)Joshua is my partner's long-time favorite!
I think I'm leaning more towards Jordan because it has more meanings for us, and I like boy names ending with -n :P
I also like that Jordan and Alma are both names of rivers.
But I definitely don't mind Joshua!

Date: 2008-12-11 01:36 pm (UTC)As names alone, I used to prefer Joshua, but then Jordan has more meaning to me (and a little to him) and I'm not too into how Joshua sounds (Jordan sounds more "neutral", if that makes sense) but my partner really likes Joshua and I want him to have a boy's name that he likes :)
In case of a girl, I know I'd want more decisional power over the name we choose, so I want to let him have the same for a boy.
Then when he told me where he got his preference from - Joshua Jackson (Pacey in Dawson's Creek)- , I almost fell off the chair.. XD
