What do ya'll think of Chloey/Chloe and Zoey/Zoe and the 2 dots over the e?

I think they're cute names for animals and cartoons. LOL

They're nms, but otherwise nice enough.

Zoe reminds me of the character in Serenity with that name who is a very strong woman. I also know a few Zoes around my age (born mid/late 80s). So it doesn't seem a 'cutesy' name to me.

Chloe is really popular in the UK, has been for a few years now. So most Chloes I know are young girls, which does make it seem 'cute'. Should think it will age fairly well though.

Never really thought of them as 'pet names'.

I think they're both overly popular, and I really don't like Z sounds in names, they sound so harsh.

I work with a girl named Chloe. I think it's cute. I hate Zoe though, it's WAY too harsh sounding. I think they're both too trendy now, though.

I love them for children, especially with the trema.

Chloë and Zoë are my favorite variations.

I liked them both spelled without the y, but they're not exactly my style--too cute. I think Chloe has an interesting sound for some reason. I wouldn't use it for my kid, though.

Chloe is nice but not really my style. I *love* Zoe, and plan on using that for my first girl.

I *love* Chloe! My sister is naming her baby Chloe.

Chloe I don't like so much, probably because I studied French for so long and hated it, haha :)
Zoe I'm split on. I love the way it looks written, but it was a name I liked a lot when I was little so now it seems very...childish? I'm not sure. I also associate it with the little girl from that comic. (Baby Blues?)

I like Zoey and Chloe and would consider both for girls. I've known women of all ages named Chloe, and I think it ages well.

I met someone last night named Zoi.

It sounded cool in theory but now that I am looking at it, it looks kind of dumb.

I love Chloe and Zoe. They are a little too cutesy for my taste but I love them on other peoples' kids!

i really love them both. chloe i would actually consider using, but zoe not so much. definitely cute for a pet or cartoon, yes indeed.

I love the name Zoe! It's my number three favorite name. If I marry someone who doesn't like my first two, Zoe will be my future daughter's name then. I realize it's popular but I don't plan on having kids for another 8 years so hopefully the trend will die down by then.

I don't like Chloe, I think of this show the Olsen twins did and I don't like the Olsen twins.

I like them both, but "Chloe" will always remind me of a perfect name for a shih-tzu.

I like them both, it's a shame that chloe is SO popular.

Yeah, I loved the name Chloe for years ever since I heard of Chloe Sevigny. Now I'm just hoping my other favorite girl names don't become popular.

They're a bit cute, and I probably wouldn't use them, but I still think they're fairly nice and appropriate names for any girl.

I'd spell them Chloe and Zoe, but I'd rather have the dots over the e before I'd spell it with a y on the end.. it just looks so wrong as Chloey and Zoey to me.

I really like both names, but zoe as an adult might be a little difficult to take seriously.

Hmm... umlouts are just the foreign way to emphisise syllables... if i was going with chloe or zoe i'd use them..
I defiently hate Chloey but Zoey is alright...
One of my favourite names is Esmé, the é makes it es-may rather than es-mee...

Actually umlauts can change the entire sound of the vowel, which is why I hate seeing them on names when people are still going to pronounce the name the same way as they would without them.

From: [identity profile] krazyhippie.livejournal.com
I like them both, minus the umlauts.
