Just throwing a few more names about...

Girls:
-Elliot
-Lirael
-Lyra
-Mona

Boys:
-Warrick
-Seth

I really like Lyra in combination with "E" middle names...
-Lyra Eden
-Lyra Elliot
-Lyra Elise
-Lyra Ellis
-Lyra Elizabeth
-Lyra Evangeline (I don't know why Evangeline, lately I've really liked it)

Also...
-Bethan Lirael

-Warrick Alexandar
-Seth William

What do people think and what names go with Mona (first or middle)? I thought Mona Mae but I didn't know if the "M M" was too much for two short names.

I don't like Elliot for a girl, because it's a pretty popular guy's name. Lirael is nice. What language is it/what does it mean?

I don't like Lyra (like a Turkish Lira?) or Mona (too old-ladyish).

I love Seth, always have. Warrick...is ok. NMS I think. I like Evangeline, except it sounds French. Not into French names. But I like the meaning.

How would you say Bethan? People would say Bee-than. Eeek.

Love Alexander, love Seth William.

"M M" is too much. I hate the name Mae. Sounds like a mean old neighbor.

I really like Beth-Ann! If correcting people's pronunciation problems (like mine, lol) doesn't bother you, then you've found youself some simple but unique names.

When I hear "Mona M..." I am embarrassed to admit that I immediately think of Harry Potter's "Moaning Myrtle"!!!

I don't like the names Lireal, Lyra Elliot or Mona. I do like Warrick (CSI fan, lol) and Seth. I really REALLY hate teh name Ellis as it was my ex-husband's middle name.

I don't like Eden, Elizabeth and Evangeline. Bethan looks like a incomplete form of Bethany. I do like Alexander and Willaim.

Wow I love Lyra Eden, that's so pretty! Lyra Elizabeth doesn't sound as good as the others though. I knew a little girl called Evangeline, thought it was the most ridiculous name in the world, but got used to it quickly. Quite a mouthful for a child though.

I have only ever known a male Elliot, I don't really like it as much on a girl. But it has grown on me, it's cute.

I have always kinda liked Mona, but it seems like tempting fate (moaner). Mona Mae is good, may look better as Mona May though.
Mona Grace
Mona Elizabeth
Mona Louise
Mona Madalin
Mona Marie (I don't think the MM thing matters too much)
Mona Alexis
Mona Skye

Also, I LOVE Seth. Seth William is good. I have also put it with
Seth James
Seth Justin (my SO)
Seth Alexander

I love Lyra and Lirael, but I'm not at all a fan of Mona or Warrick (sounds like some sort of weird black magic). The others (Elliot and Seth) are okay.

i really don't understand the trend of elliot as a girl name... the only time i've seen it as a female name is a girl i knew whose father was elliot... they named her elliette, pronounced the same way. honestly, the name ellie is so much more feminine and very similar to elliot. just my 2 cents :)

mona is cute! and really hard to pair with a middle name. hmmm.. some ideas: mona belle, mona beth, mona genevieve, mona grace, mona hazel, mona jane, mona joy, mona lane (kinda sounds like a street though haha), mona laurel, mona lee/leigh (maybe too similar to mona lisa), mona lorraine, mona louise, mona lynn, mona paige, mona pearl, mona violet, mona vivian.

i just realized you said what first names go with mona, too. d'oh! oh well... i tried to think of some but i think it's even harder to use mona as a middle name. it's definitely a cool name, but hard to pair.

I wonder what male name will be next...

theres a woman on my friends list who is pregnant and is (very unsuccessfully) trying to convince everyone in her real life that elliott is a great name for a girl. i like the name a lot but have been torn about it. i like eli (pronounced: ee-lie, last part rhymes with fly) for a boy, but doesnt seem to quite cut it as a nn for elliott, so i thought ellie (pronounced like the girls nn) but i cant imagine doing that to a boy, calling him ellie i mean. so ive thought...hmmm...perhaps its not such a bad choice for a girls name.

i remember when naming a girl taylor was outrageous. someone who worked with my mother had a baby in the early 90s and named her taylor james, and everyone was aghast!! now its more of a girls name than a boys (ive always hated it, still do, doesnt matter which sex you put it on, but i digress) and now i know two girls with the middle name james, in one case honoring the babys father and in the other, the babys grandfather.

my point is: use what you want. most of the more modern sounding male names (ie: i dont mean frank and george) are going to ultimately become unisex (to some degree) in the future anyway.

are you pronouncing lyra as leer-uh? because thats the italian dollar. well at least it was before the euro. and that keeps throwing me off of it.

i dont like any of your girls names except elliott (see above) but seth is nice too, for a boy.

I love the Garth Nix books. And the His Dark Materials series... Lyra and Lirael are gorgeous. But then again, I'm a huge nerd. And get 90% of my names from books.

Elliott on a girl makes me think of Scrubs... so I dont mind it as much as I would have before, because she's very pretty and I think it works on her. Mona reminds me of the moderately flaky girlfriend Ross had on Friends. I'm not a huge fan of the name in general, but it's cute.

My friends 6 months old is called Lyra Carmella. (her daddy is italian & Carmella was his mother's name) I think it's beautiful.
She fell in love with the name after reading Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials Trilogy.
