[identity profile] glitterintheair.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm due in June and am really really stuck with baby names this time around! anyone got a spare moment?

What do you guys think of the name Evangeline? Is it pronounced Evange -LINE or Evange -LEEN?

I don't want something horribly popular, does it seem to be becoming rapidly popular? what do you think of the sib-set Felicity and Evangeline? (my daughters name is Felicity).

What do you think of the name Theodore? everyone asks "what, like the fat chipmunk?" when I tell them it's our first choice for a little boy. Do you like Felicity and Theodore as a sib-set?.

Thanks in advance =) you guys are great!

I've always pronounced it Evange-LEEN. I've known one person with that name, but she was never called it... everyone called her Angie. I wouldn't use the name because of that person I know and because people called her Angie. Heh.

I think Theodore's fine. Not my taste, personally, but I don't see anything wrong with it. :)

I pronounce it like Evange-LEEN. I love the name Felicity -- I'm not sure how well it fits with Evangeline, but I do like that name as well. Theodore I don't like as much because the only Theodore I can think of is the chipmunk.

First of all, you have great taste in names. :D

Second, both names would make a great sibset with Felicity, IMO. Evangeline is lovely, popularity and all. Fortunately, the name isn't anywhere near trendy - it's classic and regal, so Evangeline is the good kind of popular. Theodore is both adorable and mature; you can call him Teddy when he's little and Theo when he's all grown up.

I love both Felicity and Theodore and I think they make an amazing sibset, but I'm not fond of Evangeline. I feel like the first time I heard the name it was pronounced -line, but I've also heard -leen.

I like Evangeline and Felicity goes well with it. I also pronounce Ev-AN-jeh-leen.

You have great taste in names as Theodore is lovely as well. I also like that all these names have such lovely meanings. Felicty = happiness Evangeline = good news Theodore = God's gift. All really good meanings and a really nice sentiment to have over your child.

Do you use nicknames, if so, what would you nm Evangeline?

I think I like Evangeline (with the -een ending). It sounds great with Felicity.

Felicity and Theodore sound good together too. I like Theodore.

i think it can be pronounce either way, like madeline/madeleine, but i prefer "leen" rather than "line". i don't think it's becoming too popular and i like the sibset of felicity and evangeline.

i also like theodore. i love theo too.

I've always pronounced it Ee-van-ge-LEEN. I really like the sibset Evangelin & Felicity. So pretty!

I'm not really a fan of Theodore, but it's an ok name. And the nickname Theo is nice!

Like one other person I've always known it to be pronounced "Ee-van-ge-LEEN". It was my paternal grandmother's name and that's how she pronounced it. I don't think it was all that popular before, but since the popular show Lost, with the actress Evangeline Lily, it might become more popular, but I don't think it would become as popular as say Emma, Emily etc are.

I think it sounds good with Felicity, but I don't quite think Theodor sounds good with either. But, there's another name almost like Theodor, that I think would go nice with Felicity and Evangeline. It's Theron, maybe you might consider it.

Evange-leen, and it's one of my favourite names, especially for the NN Evie. And Theo. And Felicity. The only Felicity I ever knew went by Flick, which I thought was a great way to make the name younger and tredier when she was, but she still had a lovely name to use as an adult...just my 2 cents worth. Great names and congratulations.
