(no subject)

A little girl at the school where I work just got a new baby brother.
The little girl's name is Genevieve (she's 4) and her new baby brother is Strom.
WDYT?

I dislike Strom because everyone's going to assume it's a mistake or a typo.

I knew a boy whose *last* name was Strom...

His first name was David.

I think Thurman. The senator. That was his name, right?

I don't like either of them. It appears that I am in the minority in liking Strom more than Genevieve, I cannot stand Genevieve. I also don't think that people will always think Strom is a typo; I've heard it before, I would assme that it's a legit name.

i dont really like either name

I know someone whose son's name is strom. He's in his 20's I believe. I'm not fond of it. Genevieve is my grandma's name. she's like 80 something years old. So I think of old ladies when I hear it.

... Thurmond?

[identity profile] aquilinum.livejournal.com 2008-11-28 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I doubt it's used by any Germans as a name... "Strom" meaning "electricity" (spelled correctly and everything).

Genevieve is alright. Strom...eh...too weird for me. Like many people, I think of the senator.
