[identity profile] super-bitch06.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My boyfriend's cat, Jasmine, just popped out a couple of babies and I need your help naming one of them! They're all mutts, one calico, one grey/black striped and one ginger. As far as I've decided so far, the ginger is Hope and the Calico is Hero. I'm trying to come up with another 4 letter H name for the grey/black one, but I can't come up with anything good. Suggestions?

*Edit: I don't know the genders on any of them yet, so I'm open to almost anything, including renaming the ginger if it turns out to be a boy. But I'd like them all to be kind of matchy to Hero. =]

I like the sound of Huck for the grey/black one if it's a boy. Hana if it's a girl.

Your ginger will almost certainly be male, and the calico almost certainly female. I don't know if that changes your opinion on the names at all.

Calicos were part of my high school bio lessons on genetics. But other than that, I worked as a vet tech for seven years, and I've had cats of my own since I was five. IDing breed mixes is also a fun game.

After I learned how to read well, I went on a spree of reading books of all sorts. My favorite was the book about cats, with the big glossy pictures, so I ended up learning a bunch of strange things about cats. Sometimes I get bombarded by random facts I read when I was in the first grade, that I hadn't thought about in years ;)

Ginger cats are usually male, so I'd start picking out a male name for a ginger kitten. Calicos are almost always female, but Hero is a female name in a play or a story (Leander and Hero) so that works.
