I have a 21 month old Kaitlyn and sometimes I call her Kiki..not sure if that qualifies as a "good" nickname. I use Kate and Katie all the time. Her middle name is Isabelle so she also gets called variations of her middle name.

I have a friend name Kaitlin (she generally goes by Kait), who was called Kiki by a cousin who couldn't say her name when she was young. I think it's a really cute nickname for Kaitlin/Kaitlyn.

I know a Kaitlin with the nickname Katia. It's because she's a soccer player and there were a bunch of girls already on her team named Kaitlin/Katie/Kate so when people shouted out names it got confusing.. and they had to think of something interesting
