[identity profile] girlsteve.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So, just for fun and because I'm rather bored at the moment, I came up with a new game: Invent a name.

Basically, you make like the thousands of trendy mummy's out there and throw a bunch of sounds together until you find something you think looks nice. Doesn't have to be something you'd use, because many people [myself included] wouldn't use an invented name, but just something you like the sound of. I'll be interested to see how many of our invented names have actually been used before....

So, to get the ball rolling: Jesmia

I suck big time at inventing names, always have..
A friend of mine had invented Saskia (prn SAH-skee-ah), I thought it was cool.

I invented Evasia, but actually derived it from Evasio, that apparently is a legit name in Italy, it's mentioned in some very old baby name books, but I've never ever seen it on a person!

Let's see what I can come up with off the bat..
Girls:

Carlinga
Straylie
Jurissa
Malita
Olenda
Jangyor
Rummel
Neissa
Leirma
Arneth
Wellis
Ellarin

Boys:
Guyton
Elmac
Noriah
Elston
Rainer
Torrell
Jesfert
Coyron
Shembon
Aylius
Daggart

KK I'll stop ..hehe

Saskia isn't really invented. I have a cousin named that- it's a dutch name- I think it means 'saxon' LOL not much for meaning- but I always thought it was a cool name.

I love it- I think it's one of those 'grow with you' names. If it wasn't already taken, I'd use it.

Glad to give a laugh :) I've always thought ricochet sounded like a nice name if it didn't have the meaning already attached to it, and respelled word names are soo trendy right now ;)

I actually used Rica Shea as a pen name for some writing in middle school, but an 11 year old can get away with it lol.

Ooohh! My daughter does this all the time with her toys. The last one she came out with, and the only one I can remember is...
Marvonica.
Oh, hang on...
Marichissa
Silloetta
Trovinika
Yeah, that's all I can remember.

My son does it as well - one week every one of his dolls was 'Meek-moe' or 'Moe-Meek'.

Probably because I'm a very creative person, I happen to love invented names, and as such I have a list of names I invented. My first post in this community I posted many of my made up names.

This is my latest creation: Zoviaune - "Zoh-vee-aw-nuh".

A friend of mine came up with the name "Andelea" and I always thought it was pretty. I don't know if I spelled it like he did, but it's pronounced And-elle-ee-ay.

I'm not creative enough to come up with my own. Well I *could*, but in order to not frighten anyone I won't.

a better phonetic spelling might be Anne-Dell-Ee-Ay, now that I think of it.

Myrrina (mur-rin-ah)
Syntries (syn-tree-es)
Xrysoan (cry-so-an)
Agleia (ah-glay-ah)
