Doggie names

Please all tell me the names of your dogs or what you WOULD name a dog if you were to get one.
I am in the middle of convincing my mother that we should adopt one. Wheeeee! I've never had a dog before so I'm pretty bloody excited.

Except for when I was little, my animals have almost always had human names. I think it's really hard to name a pet without having met them. Names just come to me once I know their personality. I had a dog named Taffy when I was little and more recently, Sadie. I have cats now though and all their names end in N. The neighborhood strays I named are a whole other story though.

My mother's dog is Max(amillion). He's an old man and grouchy as all get out, but I love him.

My SO's mom named their Schnauzer-baby Cheechoo. :)

Our dog is Charlie Cash (after my great grandfather, and Johnny).
Most other dogs I know have human names, fairly short, ending in an ee sound; with that ending it will carry better with calling them. It's always a good to practise with the short list.

If we got another dog he'd been Murphy David (we just like the fn. mn is a family name, and as in Bowie to continue the theme). I also like Seamus and Caleb.
The list for if C had been a girl was; Abby, Ciara, Kaia.

My mom has a boxer named Mya. I want a boxer named Stella and a french bulldog named Annabelle. I also have a cat named Millicent.

My dog's name is Pantalaimon, from the His Dark Materials trilogy, but we ended up calling him by a nickname, the Bunting. I used to have a dog named Peregrin (Pippin), who was named after Pippin from Lord of the Rings. I wanted to name our next dog Gaspode (the talking wonder dog from Discworld), but my husband hates that name, so I'm not sure what I'll name him. I'm hoping the Bunting will just turn out to be immortal because he's the most amazing dog ever. I have a cat named Namida and my next cat will be Chairman Meow.

I've had 3 family dogs, we made their names out of their pedigree names:
Enigma = Niggy
Silver Cinder = Cinderella = Cindy
Diamond Dust = Dusty
Plus we had an adoptive dog, found in a french town called Trigance = Triggy

My parents liked the -y ending theme.

If I were to get a dog now (and I want a Yorkshire Toy sooo bad) I'd name him weird word names, in italian. The equivalent of liver, apple, snack, etc.

I don't technically have a dog, but I'm surrounded by them. My roommate's dog is named Bailey, my boyfriend's dog is named Mindy, and my parent's dog is named Cheyenne.

our current dog is named virginia (she was a shelter dog and came with the name). we have talked about getting another one and naming her georgia or indiana. but i have started to love indiana for a human, so i am going to try to talk the boy out of that one. i would like to name our next pet willie, because i love willie nelson. our two cats are named maggie and nigel.

I went to our local shelter around this time last year to walk the dogs and there were soooo many collies! Collies and beagles, actually. It was kind of strange how many there were. Maybe you'll get lucky :)

I've had five cats that were called Natisa, Pemmi, Kaneli (Cinnamon), Kukka (Flower) and Lego. Right now I want a Finnish Spitz who I would call Hilla (that's cloudberry in Finnish and Finnish Spitz's are kind of cloudberry coloured).

If I'd name my pet with a human name I'd go for something short like Jackie, Eddie, Jessie or something because I was always kinda lazy with my pets names and shortened them to a lot of different nicknames.

I named my parents' dog Moe (a shih tzu).
I also have a dacshund named Remy and a beagle named Lexie.

When we get another dog, I want to name it Dash if its a boy or Tally if its a girl!
