Hey all! I have a quick question about a nickname. My name is Monica and I just realised my mom has this funny habbit of calling me Mona. I love it really I just didn't know if it was normal to call Monicas Mona. I really like it, specially because my middle name is Eloisa and I get called Mona Lisa too =)
So.... is Mona a nickname for Monica? or is that just my family being weird?

I remember being so weirded out this one time when I was watching Friends and that Monica kept getting called Mon ... I really don't like that hehe.

Date: 2008-11-15 06:50 am (UTC)I had a spanish friend and her name was Monica too, only her nn was Monnie, sounds like Bonnie. I prefer Monnie over Mona, because it's like the word moan with 'uh' added, and I don't think of the word moan in pleasant terms in relation to a name haha.
