Nickname question!

Hey all! I have a quick question about a nickname. My name is Monica and I just realised my mom has this funny habbit of calling me Mona. I love it really I just didn't know if it was normal to call Monicas Mona. I really like it, specially because my middle name is Eloisa and I get called Mona Lisa too =)

So.... is Mona a nickname for Monica? or is that just my family being weird?

Is it Mow-na or Mon-a?
I have a friend named Ramona who loves to go by Mona (prn Mow-na)

I would never occur to me as nn for Monica.

I am guessing the closest would be Moe(like the name Moe)-Nuh. It's also different because my family only speaks spanis so my name is pronounced a bit differently too.

I think it's legitimate, although I don't know anyone else who gets called that.

My mother's name is Monica, and she mostly gets called Moni (Moe-Nee).

I remember being so weirded out this one time when I was watching Friends and that Monica kept getting called Mon ... I really don't like that hehe.

I usually get called Moni too but I love the way Mona sounds. I hate being called Mon too though...

Yeah I looove being called Mona Lisa =D It is also cuter/funnier to me because I am an art student so it is even more begging to be called that.

I don't like Monique at all... I hate being called that and I got called it enough growing up since I went to a french school.

I love the name Mona... Ive never heard a Monica called that.... but I dont think it matters its not to strange to me

I've never heard of Mona as a nn for Monica but I guess there's nothing wrong with it.

I had a spanish friend and her name was Monica too, only her nn was Monnie, sounds like Bonnie. I prefer Monnie over Mona, because it's like the word moan with 'uh' added, and I don't think of the word moan in pleasant terms in relation to a name haha.

There used to be a girl at my school called Monika and I remember people calling her Mona.

I just have to say that I love your middle name :>) It means lively and vibrant in Finnish! I think it's so beautiful.
