My husband and I have named our son Taegan Wesely......We wanted something unique, and his middle name is the family name!! What do you think???

any chance there's a few typo in there and the name is actually Teagan Wesley?

Regardless of spelling, I think Teagan/Tegan is quite a feminine name.
I'm not keen on Wesley, but I don't hate it either.

I think it sounds nice as a combo, although the names are not really matching in style.

I like Wesley but Taegan really really isn't my thing. Esp. on a boy...and esp. that spelling (I guess I'd prefer Tegan? Teagan? I don't know...)

I like the sound of Taegan (and Teagan/Tegan, for that matter), but because of Tegan & Sara, it's a girl's name to me now.
I'm not a fan of Wesley, but Taegan Wesley flows well.

I don't see Teagan as a girl's name but I am not a fan either way... it's weird for me to pronounce and reminds me of the word Tikki (don't ask...) Wesley is not my cup of tea either but it's a legit name and it's alright. Unless you actually did spell his name Wesely and then I don't like it that much... sorry!

Pronounced TAY-gen?

It's too similar to Tegan, which is a girls name. falls into the 'two syllables, ends in -an/en' catagory which I find incredibly boring.

Wesely should be Wesley, in any case I don't like it but appreciate the family connection.

That's what I'm saying. The person who left the comment I replied to is saying it's spelled wrong. Well, it's not spelled wrong as Taegan if it's pronounced "Tay-gen"

Taegan/Tegan are pronounced both Tee-gan and Tay-gan, so that doesn't quite solve it.

Taegan is more of a feminine name in my eyes but I love Wesley! A lot of people have commented on how you spelled it "Wesely" but I don't think the spelling of that one matters since it's a family name. Family names are best kept the same spelling as is always used. Otherwise it kind of turns it into a different name! Anyway, the two names do go together well.

People can accept Lynn and Jamie as names for boys so why the hell not Taegan? :-P

hahaha! no kidding! Shannon, Casey, Lynn, Jamie, Ashley (Gone With the Wind, anyone?) Jordan, Morgan, the list goes on. I never know anymore when I look at a kid's name if it's a boy or a girl,so I ask no matter what! Seems like the trend is to mush everything towards gender neutral anyway. I saw a woman, mid-30's named Michael and another in her early 40's named Charles. As far as I can tell, gender specific names are fading fast. C'est la vie.

My MIL LOVES the nn Charlie for a girl. It's a lot easier to give girls boy names because with boys you have to worry about people making fun of them a lot more than you do with girls.

While I tend to from upon changing spelling for the sake of uniqueness, this spelling isn't something atrocious or tacky so I don't mind it so much. Also, while it is being used more on girls these days, it is still unisex and I think it's great for a boy. I think it sounds fine with Wesely and don't mind the spelling there because it is a family name.

Yeeeah, Taegan is super-feminine. I think the spelling change makes it look more feminine, actually. I predict he's gonna be mistaken for a girl a lot.

Some places list it as a girl name, some list it for boys. I think it works fine on either gender. I kind of like it. :)
