Date: 2008-11-13 09:34 pm (UTC)Maybe the parents wanted to honor some important and loved family members, and granted to some it looks odd to pair what we see as two separate names, into one, but it really isn't that out there and I say Emily, like the name Emmaleigh, as in "Emma-lee", so if they liked the sound of Emily, but maybe wanted to honor some relatives by using Emma and Leigh, then they achieved what they wanted, if that is the case. Either way, at least Emmaleigh won't have to worry about being taunted as she would if she had the name Shitonya, or Orangejello or Cigarette, or one of the other crazy names I've learned from this community, that people have given their kids.
