My cousin Michelle and her husband Joel just had their first child, daughter Isabelle Caitlin.
Michelle & Joel practice wicca & their pagan names are Sage and Is, which is short for Isrial.
I was also watching a video on race yesterday in my geography class and one of the girls featured in it is named Gorgeous.
What do you think of these names?
Also, what do you think of the names
Lia as a nickname for Natalia
and
Cass as a nickname for Cassandra?

Date: 2008-11-11 11:04 pm (UTC)Michelle and Joel are just too plain for me, I like their Pagan names a lot more -- though, Isrial could stand to be spelled correctly. Neither Isabelle or Caitlin are my style, but it's not really awful. There's just something I really don't like about it.
And I love your icon :)

Date: 2008-11-12 03:44 am (UTC)Gorgeous is awful.
Lia is a reasonable NN for Natalia, which I love.
I haven't heard Cass as NN for Cassandra, but I did have two friends in junior high whose NN's were Cassa and Andra.

Date: 2008-11-12 03:53 am (UTC)The Wiccan names are "meh" to me. I've just never been a fan of Sage.
Gorgeous is unfortunate.
Lia could work as a nn for Natalia, though I'm used to seeing it as a nn for Amelia.
I love Cassandra, but Cass as a nn sounds too...masculine. I actually prefer Cassie, and I also knew a girl in h.s. who was Cassandra and went by Casey.

I couldn't stop LOLing (in my head) at Gorgeous.
I never heard of Lia being a nn for Amelia. Interesting & makes sense.
