My husband and I are expecting a little boy (or so we've been told...) in March. We are leaning towards naming him Gavin Michael at the moment, we've still got a few months to be sure.
The middle name will probably be Michael for my husband's middle name, and his father's first name, regardless of our first name choice.

All that being said... I'm not a fan of overly trendy names so Aiden/Brayden/Cayden/Haydon/Jaden etc are out. Do you think Gavin is becoming more popular & trendy, enough that you wouldn't use it, or do you think it would be alright? I don't want my children to end up being known by their last initial because there ends up being so many Gavins (or insert name here) in their school classes.

Having worked in a daycare with about 100 kids, there was only one Gavin. That's only my personal experience and there may be differences in area but I don't think the name is overly trendy. Yes, it's popular, but it's not as popular as the -ayden names.
