[identity profile] velkoria.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Ok I don't know how many of you remember that a few posts back I posted abut a possible name for a character, Memphis Evelyn, and the time has come for me to write and the main character is a girl, around 16 who lives a rather... unstable life (to say the least). She is a bit weak and rough on the edges and she has a brother, whose name I don't know yet either. I need your help!
Girl - As much as I love boy names on girls I think she would most likely have a pure girl name. She is 16 at the begining of the story and easily manipulated by others If it helps any she's got blonde hair but always dyes it dark and dark eyes.
Boy - He needs a guy's name too (no unisex, pure male) he is either 17 at the begining or 15. He has dark hair and dark eyes. He may or not be gay (he's trying to figure it out) but most likely he'll just be bisexual (don't know if that matters) he's a drug addict that starts off very young.
They are brother and sister as mentioned above.
Lower middle class.
American and it's set in the 90's 2000's

Thanks!

Naming people is absolutely the hardest part of writing stories for me. So i'll be no help. But i just wanted to tell you it sounds like such an interesting story and i'd love to read it when its all finished!

totally. Lindsey sounds pretty good, btw. I always go back and change names at least two or three times throughout the story.

The first name that popped into my head immediately as far as the girl is concerned, is Piper. If you like boy names on girls, you could always give her a unisex name, or a girly name that could be shortened for something that sounds more 'tough', so to speak, like Samantha --> Sam. I personally like Sam a lot =).
As for the boy...Trevor? Travis? Chris(topher)?

I know I commented on your previous post about how I don't like Memphis, but reading about the character now, it seems to suit her perfectly!

Jessa is going on the list? Shiny! So when your novel gets published and you become a world renowned author, I may be able to say, "That's my name! I suggested that!" :P

Best of luck in your writing endeavors!

Tobias is a name I just saw on a different website... perhaps a bit out there too though.

I think, as someone else suggested, that Jessa and Trevor would make a very good sibset. They go together really well.
