[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/obviously----/ posting in [community profile] babynames
Hi! I'm new to the community, and figured I'd do an introduction post. I've always loved unique names, and I've enjoyed looking through this community for the past hour! :] Anyway, people in my family have somewhat unique names, so I thought I'd post a few.

My mom:
Kimberly Starr

My dad:
Brian Gregory

They had me and my sister:
Kacie (KC) Brina (Br-en-nah) [I'm 23. It's me. K for my mom, and Brina because it's the feminine version of my dad's name]
Kirstie (Kur-stee) Brooke [she's 20. Once again, my mom went with the K and B initials.]

They divorced and remarried.

Step-dad:
Charles Edward [he goes by Chuck.]

Step-mom:
Paula Ann

My dad & Paula have 3 kids:
Hunter Gregory [he's 8.]
Cade Barlow [he's 6. I feel so bad for him for his middle name. It's my step-mom's maiden name.]
Hannah Dianne [she's 4. Dianne is my step-mom's mom's name. It also bothers me that they have 2 H names, but Cade kind of goes along with mine and Kirstie's names.]

My mom and Chuck have a daughter:
Kenzie Rose [once again, my mom went with a K. She obviously didn't go with a B for the middle initial. Rose is Chuck's grandmother's name.]

I'm nowhere near having children of my own, but I have already decided on my own children's names. I love the names Holden [as in Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye], and Oliver. For girls, I like Harper and Magnolia. Or Lennon for either a boy or a girl.

Speaking of very strange names, my mom knew twins named Sparkle and Twinkle. She also has a friend named Princess. My Grams used to work at the hospital, and a couple named their daughter Cigarette, but were going to call her Ciggie. AND, the most bizarre are names that I saw in the local birth announcements for twin boys- Orangjello and Lemonjello. [Orange jell-o and Lemon jell-o! Seriously!]

ANYWAYYY, I'm looking forward to being part of this community! :] Have a good night, everyone!

I don't buy it. Oldest name-related urban legend in the book.

I love Holden and Oliver. I like Lennon on a boy, but not a girl. Magnolia is nice and you could use Maggie as a nickname. :)

I love your parents' names and your name! I like Kacie spelled this way a lot! So much better than with a C.
