Hello All!
I thought this would be a cute idea, let's see where it goes. =D

Post the names of all your pets. Also add if you named them or not and where the name came from if you wish.
I shall begin:
Dog-Oscar (both my mom and I named him, we got him the night of the Academy Awards)
Bird- Hearsay (my mom named him, because he "says" what he "hears" ><; meh)
Bird- Elton (I named him when I was 10 because when we were driving home from the pet store an Elton John song was playing XD)
And then some various fish that I have named after my irl friends: Ginger, Anthony, Eric, Carlos, Chris, etc. Most of the fish are dead now. XD

Guinea Pig - Christy (named by me because I got her around Christmas)

Dogs - Einstein and Newton (named by mom because of my dad's background in science, my dad wanted to name them Dog A and Dog B, and they're original names were George and Garth)

I always wanted to have tons of cool pets like you. Unfortunately my mother hates snakes, lizards, and most reptiles of the sort. I have a fear of spiders. I always told myself, and my mom, that having something as a pet is the best way to get over your fear or it. She doesn't agree.

lol. I wanted to have a tarantula when I was a kid. I don't anymore. My sister has them, though. :) She also has some stick insects and hissing cockroaches.

Tons of cool pets is interesting, but it's expensive and time consuming. We don't have much of a life outside of it, but we're fine w/ it. We made a commitment to them (and our fosters) and we stick w/ it.

the only pet i have ever named is the cat i got when i was around 12, who i named rudy tabitha.

my boy and i are contemplating getting another dog, and we have our eye on one from a border collie rescue organization (virginia is a border collie too) whos name is juno. i dont mind it, but i figure i will probably be calling her june / junie.

Dog- Maddie. Husband named her. We picked her up and were headed to his parents house and they live on a road called Wayne Madison so he was like "Madison...Maddie...do you want to be called Maddie?" and I guess she seemed to like it because when I arrived, he said that was her name lol
Dog- Hunter. I actually named him. My husband told me before we were even considering children that he wanted a child named Hunter and I refused so I thought that would be a really nice way to compromise and suggested it.
Dog-Double Dip. lol... doesn't fit with the other two names, huh? Husband named her. She has two spots aka "dips" :-P Hey, at least we're pretty sure no one else out there has named their dog Double Dip!

Casey - German Shepherd, named by my dad. He had one by the same name as a child.
Maverick - Golden Retriever, named by my younger brother because he is a huge Top Gun fan.
Cats:
Thunder - Named by my brother and I as we both liked Thunder Cats. :P
Lightning - stray that we started feeding. We named him to match Thunder. Unfortunately, his name also describes how long he was with us. :(

Fluffly - (brother) Clint's hampster, named Fluffly because he was fluffy.
Mouse - Mischa, belonged to (brother) Eric, named by me because Mischa is, to the best of my knowledge, the Russian equivalent to Mikey/Mickey.
Shadow - Guinea Pig, belonged to Eric, named for the Sonic the Hedgehod character. Found out it was a girl, changed to ShadoWes (from fem. "ess" suffix.) Dad called her WesleyAnne.

Kitten, Lucas. Nicknames Gremlin, Luca, and Luc. I named him cause he was nerdy and needed a nerdy name.. but I usually called him Luca or Gremlin.
Kitten, Lazarus. My mom named him. Lucas and Lazarus went together nicely and they were brothers.

Cat, Snuggs: She is pretty old now, since I've had her since I was 7. The name came from a book about a girl on the Oregon trail who has a kitten she brings with her named Snuggs. The name suits her, she's huge and cuddly.

Kitten, Benny: He's about 5 1/2 months. He came with the name because we got him from the shelter, but it really suits him. His full name has been decided to be Benny Goodcat (like Benny Goodman the musician)

2 fish, Avogadro, and 12 Cent: Avogadro named after the person who invented Avogadro's number (6.02 x 10^23) because I am a science nerd and 12 Cent because he cost 12 cents...and also he was a gangster like 50 Cent.

Childhood Pet:
Cat, Isadora: My parents named her wayyyy before I was born. She was 19 when she died so she was around for a lot of my childhood. She was very regal looking and the name means "gift of Isis" so it stuck. And I am planning on using it for a future child middle name.

Morgen Isabelle [german shepherd]. my mom named her Morgen...don't know where she got it from. I added the Isabelle because it was what the people who bred her named her before we got her.

My mom and dad and grandpa named him. There's a place in Ireland called the Dingle Peninsula, where tons of Britney spaniels run free. Our dog was a Britney, so they named him Dingle.

DOg: Peabo
I named him after Peabo Brison, the guy who sings A Whole New World with Celine Dione. I liked the name and could never pronounce it when I was little. So clearly I thought it should be our dog's name. :-)

Dog: Laser
My guide dog (see the picture above) I didn't name him, but like his name a lot. His middle name, which I did choose, is Tybalt, meaning "he who sees" in Latin.

We had to put my cat, Chaz, to sleep last December. I named him as well. My last dog, Reeves, was also named by my ex and he got stolen out of our backyard at the beginning of the year. I also had a rott/lab mix I named Diesel with my ex that he has. Other then that I have had way to many pets to name!

We also have had several foster cats, including Bogart and Bronte, Neptune and Una, Nip and Wednesday, Micah and Kiva, Jeremiah, Mya, Willa, Ryanne, and Eva and Lyra. Dogs:
Casey and Brandy were brother/sister collies. I named Casey from a list I was given when I was 5. It is after Casey from Mr. Dressup.

We had a dog named Finnegan, also a reference to Mr. Dressup. He lives with my dad now though.

Radar is my current baby. He is a portuguese water dog. Named after Big Birds teddy bear/M*A*S*H.

I had a cow named Tugs because they had to really tug her out when she was born.

I have to betta fish, Albert (Einstein) and Tonks (Harry Potter)

The only animal I personally own is my cat, Allie. (Short for Allison.) I love the name and my husband wouldn't agree to let me use it for our daughter, so it's my cat's name

My mom's animals;

Cats- Patches, Zima, Dufus, Harmony, Scootz, Scary, Spooky

My sister's;
Cats- Snarf, Willie, George.

My mother-in-law's;
Cat- Zena
Dogs- Sunny & CoCo (Spelled very atrociously though)

My father-in-law's;
Dogs- Marbles, Missy
Cat- Momma cat.
