I consider all of these to be boy names, with the exception of Lane, and also Casey which I think can be either.

I like Arden (b), Brooks (b), Devan (b), Casey (prefer on boys but like it on girls, too), and Avery (b).

None of these words give me any strong indication of either sex, but here's what they made me think.

Arden - Forest of Arden as in Midsummer Night's Dream
Laken - never heard this word, lake with an 'n', Scandinavian-ish sounding
Lark - a type of bird
Lane - a pathway or street
Brooks - brand name for clothing manufacturer, I associate it more with men
Devan - misspelling of divan, or Hindu name - similar to Devendra which is a male Indian/Asian name
Casey - the only name I recognize, makes me think 'American' but no idea if m or f
Avery - brand name for a label manufacturer in the UK

Devon. I've never seen the spelling Devan before, but the A makes it look more feminine to me.

Arden--I don't like this name as it reminds me of the perfume, but since it does bring to mind the perfume, I'd say feminine.
Laken--Not a fan, but if it were used, it would seem better on a boy.
Lark--Feminine, makes me think of someone artistic, shy, and sweet
Lane--This could go either way. Cutesy on a girl, artsy on a boy.
Brooks--Masculine in every sense of the word! I think of a cowboy.
Devan--This could go either way.
Casey--Could be both, but ages better on a girl than a boy. I could see a grownup woman with the name Casey, but on boys it sounds childish.
Avery--I know it's commonly used on girls now, but I used to watch Murphy Brown and her son was Avery, so...it will always have a masculine association to me.

All male, with the last two sounding like they could go either way. Also, I think that spelling it "Laine" makes the name seem more feminine, even if it sounds exactly like Lane.
