Apr. 18th, 2006 08:09 pmI was just wondering what you all thought of the name Breearn for a girl?
If you saw it in this way: Breeahn - would you pronounce it BREE-ARN or BREE-ANN?

Date: 2006-04-18 06:21 am (UTC)With all those names that end with an "an" sound I think it's hard to tell whether it's meant to be like "anne" or "ahn" (or, apparently, "on", according to some american people on this forum but I've never heard it here in australia)
So I think she might just have to have a spelling like Briane/Breeanne etc that looks like "anne" and correct people on the pronunciation... it's one of those tough ones because all the spellings have been used for lots of pronunciations.
