I know it's bad...but just how horrible is the sibset
Noah and Owen

Can't say that one fast...it's like saying "Knowin' Owen" lol...just how bad is it?

Obviously I'm thinking way far in advance as Noah hasn't even come out yet but since Noah David will be names from my husband's family, I'd like to do something from my family for another boy so I was looking through family names and my dad's favorite uncle's middle name was Owen and that's really the only name I'd like to use from his side of the family lol they all have really old names or names I just don't like. So...I was just curious...how bad is that sibset?

It's fine, you're totally over-thinking :) It sounds very nice.

I don't think it's bad at all.

Well, I can certainly see why you'd like both, since they have the same two vowel sounds and one consonant sound — just rearranged.

It's a bit awkward, but awkward's not as bad as tasteless or ugly.

If you like both enough and have two boys... okay. I've heard worse, and I'm sure you have too.

They do have that "o" sound in common and they're both short, which makes them less different from each other, but I think it's a pretty sibset overall.
I like both names.

I think Noah and Owen sound fine as a sibset, and would only be a mouthful as a combo: Noah Owen Lastname.

I am a little biased though. We plan on using Owen for our first boy and Noa is our cat's name. :)

I think it's fine, actually. Yes, it's a lot of 'o's, but it's really not as bad as you think it is ;)

The names are lovely! It won't be such a mouthful if you say 'Owen and Noah' though. ::)

To be honest I really like it. I would never have come up with "knowin' owen" on my own, and I don't think it's a big deal.

I do think it's a bit much, how similar they are. What about using Owen as a middle name, and picking a different first name that doesn't sound so much like Noah?

I don't think that it's bad at all. I'm always undecided on my opinion about Owen, but it's nice. Noah is great. Couldn't you just say Owen and Noah instead? You're way, way overthinking it. The only thing about it is they have the same O sound, but even that's not bad.

i couldnt figure out why you thought it was so terrible until you pointed it out. i love both names, so i think its a great sibset.

I like it. My son's name is Owen, and Noah would be in the running for a future sibling if he didn't already have a cousin named Noah.

I don't like how they blend...Nowen.

Not too bad, just NMS.

I do think it's a bit awkward but there's no real reason why sibling names need to flow. Best friend names, couple names, they all happen randomly and sometimes don't flow well... but nobody notices. It's not like it's within the one person's name or anything.

I think if it was me I wouldn't do it but only because I'm a bit particular about things like that on myself - not that I'd care about anyone else doing it. Then again, if I really really loved both names more than any other I'd get over it and do it.

I like them both. Together they sound a little awkward as most have said, but that's ok.
