[identity profile] cremepuff.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Another one of my cousins is expecting a baby boy with his girlfriend this winter. No word yet on the middle name, but they have already decided on the first name:

Aidan.

Kudos to them for using a non-kr338tiv spelling. Not-so-much for picking a name that is so common, though.

I prefer a common, trendy name spelled correctly than a common, trendy name spelled kre8tyvlee, and I love the name Aidan (trendiness and all). Hopefully they'll give him an uncommon middle name to balance it out. It's the one and only name in the entire rhyming trend that I can picture on a grown man successfully functioning in the working world.

It could be much worse.

I still think Aidan is a really nice name, and definitely MUCH nicer than Jayden/Cayden/Brayden/Whatever.
Too bad it's so trendy.

I think Aidan is fine apart from rhyming with half the class. I prefer this spelling a gazillion times more than Aiden. It's a decent name - yes it has been very common in recent times, but I almost wonder if the trend of Jayden/Cayden etc has taken over, and maybe there are less Aidans again now. Not that it will be a rare name by any means, but maybe no worse than the Bens and Michaels of our day.

I love Aidan. :D Hopefully the Aidan-craze hasn't seeped into their area yet. :D
