Husband and I went shopping at the local BiLo we were checked out by: Marquishia My husband says her name is pronounced (MAR-QUE-SHA) so I am guessing the i's are silent?

Well, the word "marquis" is pronounced "mar-kee".

Should make it "Mar-kee-sha", in my head.

I knew a girl in middle school who pronounced it Mar-QUEE-sha. Her name may not have had the extra i in the end...
