First thoughts....
My husband and I were having an argument discussion about names. We're still trying to settle on a girl name but were having no luck.
So my question is, what is your first thought when you hear these names? What kind of child do you picture? what immediately pops into your mind when you hear these??
EDITED
Celeste (I had a typo earlier, I do spell it with an E on the end!)
Jeanine
Lauren
Cecillia (I realize this has an extra "L" but this is how his grandmother spells her name and he insists on it)
Carmen
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K) (I hate this name on all levels.)
Daisy
Alicia

Jeanine - This is a dated name. I think of a woman probably in her late 30's, early 40's.
Lauren - Classic name, you can't go wrong with it.
Cecillia - I like it better with one "L". It makes me think of the Simon and Garfunkel song.
Carmen - A tough Italian woman.
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K)- Honestly, I think of a girl who is a little bit trashy.
Daisy - A pretty but slightly dumb girl.
Alicia - I think of Alicia Keys.

and he double L in cecillia is because it's the way his grandma spells her name...but i agree...it shold only have 1 l.
and he will NOT win on Kourtney. I HATE it spelled any way.

Kourtney - this name (to me) is extremely pretentious especially with the K instead of the C. I have never met a C/Kourtney that I have liked and hence my image of the name is tainted lol.
Daisy - I don't think this ages well, cute nickname though.

I hate the name Courtney spell anyway. He loves it though. He will not win.

Cecillia is not my style, ditto with Carmen and Lauren but both are fine. (Now I have WHERE.IN.THE.WORLD.IS....CARMEN SANDIEGO stuck in my head lol)
I don't like the spellings of Celest or Jeanine personally. But that's just me.

lmao i think of where in the world is carmen sandeigo too!

Jeanine - quirky and fun
Lauren - socially acceptable and thus socially accepted
Cecillia - same as Celest
Carmen - fun, brash, theatrical and musical
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K) - O_O
Daisy - either super carefree or an introspective girl, maybe a writer
Alicia - maybe conservative but in denial, definite beta female

and his grandma is Cecillia with 2 L's that's why he keeps throwing it out there...
i hate kourtney on ALL levels

Celest makes me think of pizza.
Jeanine is ok but I'd rather see it spelled Janine and it makes me think of actress Janine Turner.
I like Lauren a lot. It's a very classy name.
Cecilia is nice. The name makes me picture a European supermodel.
Carmen makes me think of Carmen Electra. I don't like it at all.
Kourtney with a K just looks strange to me. I otherwise like the name and associate it with Courtney Love who I like so I'm biased.
I love Daisy. It's such a sweet and pure name. It's my favorite flower too so I'm biased.
Alicia is nice. Makes me think of actress Alicia Silverstone.

Jeanine--I think of an older person, not a kid.
Lauren--It reminds me of a really average person, I guess. But it's a pretty name.
Cecillia--I prefer it spelled Cecelia since that's the way my middle name is spelled. It reminds me of myself. So...quiet, shy, likes to read?
Carmen--Seems like a really fun but kinda tough person
Kourtney--Someone who is mad that their name is spelled wrong
Daisy--Cute little kid, but not an adult
Alicia--Friendly, strong, talkative

Jeanine -- Woman in her 40s
Lauren -- Quiet but kind girl that tries not to be noticed
Cecillia -- Someone who is bitter because her parents couldn't spell =P
Carmen -- I agree with "tough," and add in "beautiful and dangerous" for good measure
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K) -- ...A four-year-old living in a trailer park in rural Alabama who will grow up to be bitter because her parents couldn't spell
Daisy -- Bubbly, loyal and possibly somewhat motherly girl in her tweens/teens
Alicia -- I think of one of those popular girls that's mean to everyone in her class
Favorites are Carmen and Daisy. I'd like Cecilia if it were spelled correctly, and Celeste spelled correctly is alright.

jeanine doesn't sound like a little girl to me. a friend of a friend is named jeanine, she's 20, and it just still seems wrong to me.
i like lauren a lot. maybe not enough to use it on my own kid because it seems kind of bland, but i've always liked the name. passes the business card test, common enough without being TOO common, ect. good name.
i love love love cecilia, but i'm not loving the extra L in there. regardless though, gorgeous name. i'd use it on my own kid.
kourtney is awful. i don't have a problem with the sound, but it looks terrible. there was a girl i knew in high school who decided to change her name (not legally of course) from courtney to kourtney, it just looks like a teenager made it up.
daisy doesn't grow up well.
alicia sounds very eighties.

Celest - parents can't spell, therefore kid may be stupid too
Jeanine - old
Lauren - 80s cheerleader
Cecillia - why two 'L's? otherwise, pretty name
Carmen - lady with pineapple on head, slutty gipsy girl in the opera
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K) - you're kidding, right?
Daisy - sweet, wholesome
Alicia - charming, educated
no subject
Jeanine - Nerdy, bookworm, library type of girl, very plain
Lauren - Cute, I like it a lot
Cecillia - Makes me think of someone old, and learning about cells in biology
Carmen - Caramel is the first thing I think of, which makes me think of fat girls, I think its a name for an unattractive girl (no offense to anyone named Carmen here haha, thats just the first mental image that comes to mind) :P
Kourtney - a Kardashian slut
Daisy - ehh...I think it could be cute on a little girl, but I can't picture an adult with a real career named Daisy, unless she's on MTV
Alicia - I love it if you are pronouncing it A-lease-e-uh, but not if you're pronouncing it like A-leash-uh
no subject
and I hate Courtney spelled any way..i just hate it. period.
and yeah, I pronounce Alicia as A-lease-e-uh.

Jeanine - old
Lauren - boring/plain
Cecillia - old and has an extra 'l'
Carmen - Mexican
Kourtney - Kardashian?
Daisy - Muffy... Fifi... BooBoo... sounds like a dog's name
Alicia - I'm always confused on how to pronounce this... A-lee-see-ah? Uh-lee-shuh?
no subject
Jeanine - My aunt
Lauren - Very pretentious stuck up girl in my class at school. Everyone wanted to injure her in some way.
Cecillia - Rich bitch name to me.
Carmen - Caramel
Kourtney (he insists on it startign with K)- Kardashian, will i be seeing a sex tape?
Daisy - Cute little girl, but only a little girl.
Alicia - Makes me think of the cheeky Alicia in Enid Blyton's Mallory Towers
no subject
Celeste - hippy, head in the clouds
Jeanine - girl-next-door, 1950's housewife
Lauren - classic, stylish
Cecilia - unfaithful. That's just because of the Simon and Garfunkel song
Carmen - boyish
Kourtney - cliquey, popular
Daisy - hillbilly
Alicia - beautiful but snobby
no subject
Jeanine - Earthy, a librarian, sharp wit, older than her peers emotionally
Lauren - Young, classic, a brunette, wears glasses, prefers small gatherings to parties
Cecilia - Keira Knightley's character from Atonement
Carmen - Hispanic, outgoing, warm, sunny personality
Courtney - Bratty, Catholic schoolgirl, dresses conservatively and with good taste, blonde
Daisy - Sweet, spring, ordinary, round, energetic
Alicia - Italian, exotic, appears to be naturally sexy, classy
no subject
Jeanine - cute brunette bookworm
Lauren - very happy, outgoing, popular.
Cecillia - not fond of this name either, I've never liked the nick name 'Cici'
Carmen - Carmen San Diego! Adventurous.
Kourtney - when spelled with a K, I think of a slutty girl that tries to steal every one else's boyfriends.
Daisy - Jessica Simpson's dog. But I think of a cheerful little girl, but definitely doesn't age well.
Alicia - also very happy & outgoing.

Jeanine - diner waitress
Lauren - cute, well rounded, "all American" type of girl
Cecillia - Italian grandmother
Carmen - glassy eyed prostitute
Kourtney - cheerleader, but not the captain of the team.
Daisy - I picture a puppy...
Alicia - sweet, sassy, fun loving dark haired girl
no subject
Jeanine - A typical, easy going, friendly person
Lauren - Popular, prissy, possibly stuck up snob
Cecillia - A really feminine, high class woman
Carmen - A tough talking but sweet underneath tomboy
Kourtney - Popular snob
Daisy - A unique hippie-ish free spirited girl, emphasis on girl. My niece named her second child this and while it seems cute now, I just do not see the name aging with her. I think it makes for a cute middle name, but shouldn't be used as a first name.
Alicia - Preppy, popular, probably snobby

Love Cecillia...the spelling makes sense I guess, but prefer one L.
Daisy is cute, as long as your last name isn't Duck. My mother went to school with a Donald and Daisy Duck. I swear I'm not lying.

Celeste Kourtney and Lauren Cecillia aren't bad. Anyway, at least your daughter would still have a nice, correctly spelled first name. :)
