I'm only 7 and a half weeks pregnant, so there's plenty of time to decide on names, but here's my list so far.

http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9662413

Please vote, and if you have any better suggestions or combinations, I'm all ears. Before I was pregnant I could come up with a million names that I like, but now I can't decide if I really like any names at all. Really annoying.

Also, I'm not really sure how to talk to the boyfriend about names. He's still trying to get over the fact that I'm pregnant, so maybe I should wait a little longer (even though I want to talk to him sooner than later because he said he wanted to name his son Auto Volt...Granted, Volt is a family name, but thank God he ended up being a junior). Does anyone have any advice on how to break the ice of talking names?

For the record, Van Scoyoc is pronounced Van Skoy (rhymes with boy).

Thanks!

I really like Leah Jane.

I like most of your boy names, but I kept changing the combinations about - I think my favorite would be Simon Henry or Ronen Elliott.

Talking to your boyfriend on names depends on names. My husband is so not interested - he has a couple names he *really* likes, but has little interest in middle names or combinations so I just make a name list and ask him to click the names he likes and to tell me if there is anything he actively dislikes.

Best wishes for your pregnancy!

I love every single one of your boy's names. For the girls, I really don't care for Ivy and I always think of Marie as a filler middle name. I like Jane and Leah a lot, though!

I think I'd let the whole thing sink in a bit longer before talking about names. Who knows, he may even bring it up. And word of warning, for whatever reason there is this strange phenomenon with guys that the names they tend to like remind women of strippers. I swear not one single person I know who has discussed names with their man has ever not told me he likes stripper sounding names!

My name is Anna and I find it REALLY annoying to hear 'Anna banana' all the time so that's something to think about.

My approach to names is what can other people do to it that WON'T piss me off! LoL I like Jane but it rhymes with pain so that could lead to teasing. I also like Ivy but of course kids will probably call her poison ivy so I would go with Leah Marie.

I like all the boys names you picked but Owen Henry is my favorite [I'm partial to names ending in N] despite O Henry being a candy bar [so I'd be wary of that]. Henry James was a writer [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_James] so I'd keep that in mind as well.

But that's just me and I tend to overthink the whole name thing.

I'm more than a bit surprised that you singled out Henry James and... a candy bar — but left off that O. Henry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O._Henry) was himself a well-known writer. I'm not sure anybody in the States has escaped reading or hearing some version of his "The Gift of the Magi" (whether they'd recognize the title or not)!

The first thing I thought of when I saw Henry James was the writer....

LOVE Ivy Jane, Anna Jane and Henry James. They are all really nice names - Owen, Leah and Simon are not personal faves of mine, but your list is really solid.

Congrats!

I really like most of your names. My favorites are Anna Jane and Elliott James, but I also really like Leah Jane and Simon Andrew!
I second the suggestion of someone else; Ronan Elliott sounds really good as well.

I love all of your names except Ivy. I'm actually surprised that I quite liked Ronan, it's a name that I thought I wouldn't like but I dunno, it goes really well with the rest of the name. :>)

My favorite combos are Anna Jane (Annie), Leah Marie, Simon Andrew and Henry James. Congrats! :>)

I just named my new baby Simon so of course I love Simon :) I think Simon Henry sounds nicer than Simon Andrew though.

Congrats!

I like most names on your list...but don't like the nickname Annie for anna...anna is a beautiful name!!

I voted "no" on Henry James but to be honest I like both names, but I don't like the author, lol, so bad combo. But I'd like either one with something else.

congrats! please please please don't use auto. otto maybe? haha. i just can't imagine saddling someone with auto...
i like ivy jane, jane marie, and elliot james the best. i prefer anne to anna, and in my opinion, annie is a better nickname for anne than anna. anna doesn't really seem to need a nickname unless if you shorten it to "ann"; the extra vowel sound commenly used in nicknames is already there! jane and ivy are extremely lovely :)

I honestly love just about all of these. I think the only ones I said no to were the ones with Jane and Ronan as first names.

I love Jane as a middle name, but if you use it as a first name, I'd pick something less plain than Marie as a middle. Love most of your boys names, except for Ronan.

Simon and Henry are awesome - definitely my favorites on your list! But all of your names were nice, even though the girls' didn't wow me as much (but they are still classic and solid).
Oh, and congrats!!! I'm pregnant too, and had a whole list of names pre-pregnancy... but it goes out the window when it's for real (and you have a partner who has the exact opposite tastes).
I don't think it's too early to start talking about names - it's a nice break from talking about other, more serious stuff.
OT, I saw on your personal journal that you're from Sarasota/Tampa! I went to college in Sarasota. Always nice to meet another Gulf Coast Floridian. :)
