So last year when I was dating my short term boyfriend/best friend Michael we always had convos about potential children names. We thought for an entire month I was pregnant and was very excited but it turned out to be a false alarm. .

SO here are the names we thought of. I like them , dont get me wrong. I just need a new TOUCH UP on the middle names. .

Girl:
Versailles Adalae Rose
(The rose part I am not fond to anymore but cant think of anything "unique" to go along with it. Suggestions?)

Boy:
Peyton Lucas Michael
(Does this work?)

I also came across a name today on here "Aurora Glory" and liked it very much . .

so . . what do you think?

EDIT I am sure everyone already knows this but the name Versailles is a city in France which is pronounced Verci or Ver-sigh. . I just want to make sure to the people who are saying its not a "real" name. . It is in fact a real name, a city infact. . Just wanted to make sure everyone is educated on the orgin of the name.

The girl's name is too precious and self-conscious for my taste - and will probably to be hard for her to live with.

The boy's is fine.

peyton is an awkward name to me because when you pronounce it, some would say peyTon and some would say pey'on, you know what i mean? i hate names like that.

i love the name aurora but when you say it out loud it kind of sounds messy...and aurora glory doesnt seem to flow...to me anyways...

not trying to be rude or anything, just wanted to give my opinion :]

I agree so much about Peyton. It's always bothered me that it's either over-emphasize the T or just leave it off completely..and both sound weird.

Peyton Lucas. Oh, so One Tree Hill. I don't consider Peyton to be a unisex name, so I don't like it on boys. Lucas Michael is nice. I think that Adalae Rose sounds nice, but Versailles is just way too out there.

Aurora is my least favourite name, so I can't say much for it; I think that those two together is just too much 'or' sounds.

I know how Versailles is pronounced, and I just didn't want to say that I thought it sounded stupid. As a name, to me, it doesn't look attractive and it doesn't sound attractive. In my opinion, it's an ugly name.

Erm... everyone knows what Versailles is. That's WHY it doesn't work as a name. Because it's such a famous landmark. As a name, it's a bit ridiculous.

I would avoid Peyton on a boy, because it's becoming more popular for girls.

i agree. going with something like dakota, paris, or even china is differently than going with...versailles. some places are just not meant to be names.

Versailles is horrendous (I am highly amused that you think people don't know what it is), and Peyton is my most hated name of all time.

So that's... well. Is Adalae a shortened version of Adelaide? Or a modification of Adlai, like the presidential candidate?

I like Rose, Lucas, and Michael.

Aurora and Glory are both nice names in theory, but smoosh them together and say them aloud and it's like "Roraaroararorra". Seriously, say it aloud several times in a row. Not in your head, aloud. Oof.

Would you pronounce Adalae, Ah-dah-lay, or Ah-dah-lee?

Hmmm. Strong bunch in this community lol.

I personally am not fond of using place names for children names. Especially not as a first name.

I don't think Versailles in itself is bad, just bad for a name for a child. I made up a name you might consider instead, Vairlyse, pronounced "Vair-leese".

I dislike Adelaide for the same reasons as you, but with Adalae I think "A duh...lay eee oooh", as in yodeling. But if it's got significant family history for you and it's going to be a middle name, then you should go with it.

I am not a fan of any of the boys names.
I don't like Peyton because it just sounds like slang for 'painting', and two because even though I know it seems to be more used on girls, it sounds more masculine to me.

I don't like Lucas because it rhymes mucus.
I don't like Michael because it's too common.

Aurora Glory looks beautiful, but I think Aurora is too much of a mouthful and poses too much of a problem for a child to pronounce correctly.

What about Rory Dawn as an alternative?

Versailles is a real name for a city, yes, but it's not a real name for a human being.

The best that can be said for Versailles is it's marginally better than calling a kid Lourdes.

Lourdes is a place in France, BTW, just to make sure you're educated on that.
