[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/espoir---/ posting in [community profile] babynames
Although Baby is sending me decidedly female vibes, I've been trying to come up with at least a few boy's names I like. The problem is there are a few girls names that I just adore, while boy names all just sound alright to me. But here's the list anyway-

Westley or Wesley Michael (which do you all like better?)
Caleb Michael
and I don't know what anyone else will think about this but I just love the name Gilbert (as in Gilbert Blythe, from Anne of Green Gables) so Gilbert Michael- but would that be mean? It seems like it would be easy to make fun of, possibly.

Thanks!

Gilbert Blythe was a great guy. It'd almost be okay...

except...

somewhere a few years back, Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed the mentally retarded boy in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and he did such a good job that whenever I see/hear the name Gilbert, I can hear Leo going "Gilbeeeert!"
(Great movie btw)

Blythe would be a cute middle name for a girl, but you have those picked out...

Westley is okay. If you keep the "t" the kid will be correcting people the rest of his life. Wesley is okay. Michael is okay. Caleb is okay. See, I'm not excited about those names either.

Any other literary male characters you like?

Atticus is such a great name but I don't have nerve to use it. "Harper" is a nice name in homage to TKAM, but I also think of Harper as a girl's name. I guess it could work for a boy.

Harper Wesley is nice. Or flip it.

re: p.s. Thanks, she's my girl. Her name is Halo, after the game.
