According to freakonomics, based on the best possible predictors, these are going to be the most popular baby names in 2015:

WDYT? Personally, I don't see Flannery taking off...

Lara
Quinn

Boys:
Anderson
Carter

That's all I like. I think it's funny both Anderson and Cooper are on the list though.

It upsets me that some of my favorites are on the list--Like Eleanor, Finnegan, Oliver, Asher, Sophie and Bennett.

Although I don't think Maximilian, McGregor, Marie-Claire or Linden will be on the list of most popular baby names when 2015 actually rolls around...

Well, that's how popular names get to BE popular — people who all grew up with mostly the same cultural influences, none of whom want names that they feel were overexposed in their own experience. And so you get millions of people all lurking at home going "Ava... never knew an Ava. But it just sounds right LOVE IT." Months later, they scratch their heads and go, "But I liked it BEFORE it was popular! Everybody else is following my lead!"

I cannot staaaand Annika. Don't know why...just can't. I don't see Clementine being popular, either...ever.

And for boys...Aidan will still REALLY be kickin' in 2015???

Boy names tend to stick around for a lot longer than girl names.

i find it odd that the uber-populars of today are still on this list... such as: ava, ella, emma, grace, isabel, aidan, asher, jackson, liam, oliver, will

i hope philippa doesnt get super popular because while i dont like philippa at all, pippa is one of my favorite girls names, and its supposedly a nickname for philippa.

Yes, score, top favourites still not there. There are a few that I do like though:

Avery (stupid trendiness ruining it)
Eleanor
Fiona
Waverly

Really, Harper is going to move over to boys, eh?

I like a lot of these, and I can see most of them becoming popular.

But it amuses me to think of being one of four Clementines in a single class haha.

I'd rather see Flannery than a few of the other "literary" names that seem to be taking flight . . .

I love these names, they are all on my baby name list:
Annika
Eleanor
Ella
Emma
Fiona
Isabel
Johan

I hope these names won't become that popular, especially Annika because I'm planning on using it. :>) I just can't imagine it on any other kids than Scandinavian/Finnish and possibly German kids, same with Johan.

In all seriousness, I'd say there's at least a 60% chance that I'll have a child called Flannery by 2015.
