Evangeline is one of my favourite names, so spelling it like that is just horrible.

I always thought people tried alternative spellings to give origniality to common names (Emilee,Khloe,Abigayle) but Evangeline is very rare anyway, so why the need to for a new spelling?

Because parents feel like their child needs to be a Special Snowflake, and they don't realize that there are 15 others Special Snowflakes floating around.

It's a reason why I feel so bad for the rising generation. All of their names rhyme, and their parents spell them all kinds of different ways. Talk about confusion in a high school's crowded hallway. :D
