Is Terra supposed to be pronounced like Tara or is it a different name entirely? Either way, WDYT?

Also, which do you like better?

- Bryan Jacob
- Bryan Wesley

I like Bryan better than Brian, even if you don't. ;)

Thanks!

Terra is pronounced tehr-uh.

Bryan Jacob is better, I think. Having more than one 'y' in a name makes me wince, lol.

It depends on how you're pronouncing Tara ;)

I do pronounce those two names the same way, but I've heard Tara pronounced TARE-uh, TA-ruh, TAR-uh, TEH-ruh. (I pronounce them both the first way).

It depends on how one is choosing to say Tara, because if it's "TAR(rhymes with jar)-ah" then no, Terra isn't pronounced the same, Terra is "TAIR-rah". And not sure about the meaning of Tara, but I'm almost certain Terra means earth.

I like Bryan Wesley better because for some reason Wesley seems to draw out the name more, which I think is better since both are just 2 syllable names, so to me the slightly more drawn out sound from "Bryan Wesley" makes it sound better than something like Jack Black.

I'm a Tara and I pronounce it TA-ruh. I've found a lot of Americans pronounce it like Terra though.

I would pronounce it "Tair-uh" but that doesn't mean I'm right :)

Also, I'm with you on Bryan. Brian looks too much like brain and it's just weird. I like Bryan Wesley better but they both work.

in my 4th grade class there was a Terra (TARE-uh) and a Tara (TAH-ruh). I thought it was weird because all the other Tara's I've known have been TARE-uh.

i pronounced terra (teh-ruh) and tara (tah-ruh). so i think they are different names, and prefer tara. terra means earth in italian, and most people who are familiar with that will pronounce it the way i do.

i prefer bryan jacob.

Terra is the italian word for "Earth", "ground".
It's pronounced TEHR-rah.

Bryan Jacob.

Whoa, Tara is tah-ruh. Tair-uh and Terra make absolutely no sense to me.
