 Greenlee.   A friend of mine is having a girl (her first child) and this is the name she chose. I've never heard it before and I can't really decide if I like it or not, although I am starting to lean more toward the "not liking it" side more. The parents are Shandi and Scott. So, what do you think of the name Greenlee Lyn? Do you personally know anyone with this name?

that's a name on a soap opera my mom watches [maybe that's where your friend got it], and i do kind of like it. if i didn't know it was a character, i don't think i'd be able to actually picture it on a person.

When I watched the soap with my mom I actually liked it but I'm too traditional to ever use it :-/

I think I've heard of it before, but I don't actually know anyone named this. I do kind of like it, although I'm not sure that that's how I would spell it. I don't like it much with Lyn as the middle name.

I'm pretty sure the Soap Opera All My Children popularized it as a first name, for their female character Greenlee Smythe Lavery. As other than that I think it's used as a last name.

I don't think it should be used as a first name, not for a boy and especially not for a girl. It's basically a color with lee added. And because of the L in it, following it with a middle name that starts with L, just throws it off. I think you should suggest other names to your friends :)

i don't like it and i've never heard it before. it sounds like a last name, although i've never even heard it as a last name. i'd at least spelled it greenly or greenley or something..and not pair it with lyn.

It's a last name to me, I know a couple people with this last name. Maybe it could work as a middle name, but not as a first name, at least in my opinion.

when i first glanced at it, i went "greensleeves" why would someone name their child after a christmas song? honestly, if i were a little kid, i'd probably start humming that song whenever Greenlee walked into the room. But i was a mean little booger when i was younger

Greenlee is a really ugly name in my opinion. Paired with Lyn doesn't make it any better.

Greenley is a last name. I could see it being used for a first or middle name but it seems more masculine. I would suggest an alternate spelling if they're really set on it and definitely a different middle name. Greenlee Lyn all sort of runs together when you say it. In fact, it sounds almost like Green Leland. Also, I think it looks silly because Greenlee looks like it has too many e's and Lyn looks like it's missing a letter. :\
