[identity profile] yourethedancer.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm not pregnant yet but hopefully will be in the future. Also, I'm a name addict so I'm obviously always thinking of names for my future kids. My all time favorite girls name is Penelope and my man loves it too. I'm having a hard time thinking of middle names for it though. Some other favorite names are Lydia, Jane, Ruby, and Hazel, but I'm not crazy about any of them as middle names for Penelope.

As for boys, the only name I'm really into is Cassius (Cash-us). Couldn't tell you why. Other than that I'm lukewarm on classic names (Charles, Henry, James, etc) and nothing else really grabs me. The man likes mythological names, but I think most of them are too outrageous to strap on a modern kid. Literary names would work too. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

I do like how Penelope Jane sounds but I can see where Penelope is a difficult name to match a middle name with. Some suggestions, you can take or leave them, just the first thing that sprung to mind:

Penelope Elizabeth
Penelope Catherine
Penelope Charlotte
Penelope Rose
Penelope Marie (although a lot of people say this is a filler middle name)
Penelope Anne

Cassius is a pretty cool name. One name that I randomly thought of when reading your post was Theodore, which is weird because that name really never occurs to me.

Lydia, Jane, Ruby, and Hazel are making comebacks.

I love your style! How about Caspian for a boy? Literary names for boys (besides Caspian) that I like are Sawyer and Bennett (to name a few).

I'm going to second some of the other comments. I like Penelope Jane, Penelope Rose, and Penelope Catherine. I think with such a long first name, one or two syllable middle names fit better.
Penelope Bernice
Penelope True
Penelope Claire
Penelope Esther

If you don't mind longer names:
Penelope Lavinia
Penelope Octavia
Penelope Olivia
Penelope Luciana
Penelope Alessandra
Penelope Astoria

Boys!
I like the Caspian, Theodore and Bennet votes.
Other ideas: Oliver, Felix, Roger, William, Phineas, Jasper, August, Harrison, Edgar, Nathaniel, Cyril
Literary: Laurie, Darcy, Bertram, Edmund, Lysander
For the man: Theseus, Hector, Paris, Jove
