Name Poll

We're pregnant with our 3rd, due May 4, 2009, and we are having a horrible time ageeing on girl names. We have to pick the name before December, because DH is finding out the gender and I am not, and if we don't have something chosen already, I'll know for sure by how agreeable he gets towards one gender set of names over the other. We already have 2 boys, Adrian and Dylan.

Here is my name list, not necessarily my favorites or even names I am actually considering using, I just went through the books for the millionth time and these are the ones I liked or could deal with. I'm trying to narrow it down before I run it by DH, and a few of his suggestions are on there as well.

Also if you have any suggestions for other names I might like, feel free to suggest some!!

Before I even saw your list I was going to suggest Lauren, then saw it was the first name on there.

Adrian and Dylan are a nice sibset. Something feminine with an "n" at the end would fit nicely. Addison might fit nicely, too, even though it's not as feminine as Lauren.

I was originally going to try and avoid the 'n' endings this time around because DH's family is overrun with 'n' ending names with all of the nephews and cousins, but I gave up on that long ago lol. DH is just so hard to please-he doesnt like Lauren because he didnt like some girl in high school with that name, Addison was a favorite of mine with the last 2 so I know by now that he doesnt like it either, he is really impossible lol. His #1 choice is Jazzlyn, which no one seems to like at all, if that tells you anything about his taste haha. Thanks for your votes and input! :)

I have nothing against the name, but I dont think it flows well with our last name, which is Christensen. The endings are the same and the s sounds just make it too rhyme-y for my liking.

is there a reason the only middle name considered is danielle? not that i dislike it or anything, i'm just wondering.

anyway, my favorites are lauren, kaitlyn (though i prefer caitlin by a long shot), allison, and olivia. i'm not a huge fan of ashland, and bridget just sounds very unfeminine to me, though i'm not sure if that's because of the name itself or because of associations with really gross girls when i was growing up with the name.

My sister's middle name is Danielle, after my dad, whose name is Dante but he goes by Danny. Then my dad and stepmom had another daughter and named her Danielle Nicole after the both of us, so it would be incorporating both of my sisters and my dad's name.

I prefer Caitlin as well, but I don't like the initials CDC, which is why I went with the K. Thanks for your input!!

Dylan & Adrian are such pretty names! I generally don't really care if sibling names 'match', but Dylan, Adrian & Leah would make a great sibset.

I'm big on names matching, which is why I most likely won't use Taylor for a girl, even though it is a favorite of mine. It's our boy choice, but I think its too unisex for a girl when its put next to our other names.

Congratulations! The boy name was easy, because I don't like much after having already had 2 boys. I kinda put my foot down on that one and just told him what the name would be haha. Girls are another story, and hopefully we'll be having a girl this time so its kind of important that we choose sometime this year! Thanks for your input :)

just wanted to add I'm not crazy about Jazzlyn-
I have a student named Jazley which I thought was odd I had to ask her what her name was like 3 times before I "got" it and I'm usually really good with remembering names

I can't decide if I like it or not, but its DH's favorite. It sounds too much like Jasmine to me, and I don't like Jasmine. I can see myself constantly having to correct people. I also do not like the nickname Jazz, which DH has already said he loves as a nickname so he will probably call her that. No one that I have ran the names by so far likes that name at all either, and while I do think its kinda cute and I could deal with it and probably grow to like it a little more, I don't want to pick a name that no one likes but us. I wish he was more agreeable with name choosing lol.

My husbands sister is named Melinda and I dont want people thinking we named the baby after her either lol. She goes by Melinda or Minda though, not Mindy, and the only reason I don't want them thinking its after her is because he has 2 other sisters that would probably be a little hurt. I just think its very cute :)

jazzlyn is kind of trashy imo. I saw Ashland in a comment further up, if it's there for the Irish and not Kentucky, why not Aislinn?

Yea I'm very on the fence about it, trying to change DH's mind. Ashland isn't there for any reason other than I just really like it. I'm not too fond of the Aislinn spelling, it seems very easy to mispronounce for most people. And I also just really like the light d sound at the end.
