While I am only a little over 5 weeks pregnant, we are already looking at baby names. We have really decided that if we have a boy his name will be Marcus Theodore. Right now the girl name that I like the best is Brooklyn Marie. What do you think?

i've never liked the name marcus, it reminds me of mucus. i love theodore though.

i don't like brooklyn because i don't like brooke, so adding -lyn doesn't make me like it any more. and marie just strikes me as a filler name.

marie is different if it's a family name. it's a nice sound so i don't dislike the name or anything, but if you were choosing it ONLY because it sounds nice i'd suggest something else.

if marcus is a family name as well and your husband is that adamant about it, there's really nothing you can do. i still really don't like it, but on the plus side, i don't mind mark.

I like Marcus Theodore, even though it's not really my style.

I like Brooklyn (I'm probably in the minority when it comes to that one) and I especially like the nickname Brooke.

Brooklyn Marie sounds good!

I think your boy's name is great. Really classic and distinguished, but I don't care for the girl's name. Brooklyn comes off as very trendy to me...and Marie, at least in my area, is sort of a "filler" middle name.

There is something about the name Brooklyn that makes me think of really un-classy people. You know the type with no manners at all =/ Haven't a clue why.

Your boy's name is just love though. I adore it.

Marcus Theodore is very classic and timeless. Brooklyn Marie is much more "of the moment" and trendy--I can't picture an adult named Brooklyn.

my sentiments exactly.

Marcus also sounds very Greek, so I imagine that if Marcus has a sister with a sort of trnedy name, it's Phoebe. :)

Hun, Marcus and Phoebe would be a kick-ass sibset.

I love Marcus Theodore, but I don't like Brooklyn Marie at all. I might also be because I live near Brooklyn (I'm up in Queens)

I like your boys name. I like Theodore Marcus a bit better though.

Brooklyn Marie. It is the epitome of trendy and over used on one end and dated and overused on the other. Does it have special meaning to you? Do you have any other ideas?

Marcus Theodore is nice; I would personally prefer it if it were Theodore Marcus, I think that it sounds better. Brooklyn Marie, I don't like at all. Sorry! I think that Brooklyn is really trendy and really young, and Marie is just such an overused middle name. Marie and Rose, these days it's just like, pick one.

Marcus Theodore is nice. The name Marcus has been growing on me, and I love the name Theodore. Brooklyn Marie is tryndee and boring. Even though Brooklyn is a legit name and it is spelt right (which in itself is a relief, considering the Brooklynns out there), I can't get over the fact that the name will be outdated by the time she turns 10. Not that marks of generations are horrible in and of themselves, but that often the names just seem blah later on in life. Tryndee names especially so.
