I know a Galen, and he is one of the smartest, kindest, down to earth teens I've ever known. I love the sound of the name. I understand why people may not like it...but ask them if they like Gabriel better. Then point out they both start with the same syllable.

Greer is cute. I imagine a very artsy person when I think of Greer...

i like greer so much. brooke shields has a daughter named grier, but i like the double e spelling a lot better.

people have said to me that galen should be avoided because it starts with "gay". i've always pronounced it more like gale-inn. that might be because of my accent though? i don't know.

new york. i think a lot of people pronounce it gay-linn though, rather than gale-inn.

online, i find that so many differences in pronunciation. one member in this community said that donna and connor rhyme when she says them. o_O

i only like vivienne when it's pronounced the french way viv-ee-ENN rather than VIV-ee-inn. i feel like everyone would mispronounce it if i were to ever use it.

I love viv-ee-ENN! To me, the other pronunciation is spelled Vivian. But yeah unfortunately I think people would mispronounce it.

One of my fave names is Ca-ro-LEE-na, but I feel like most people would say Ca-ro-LYE-na which I hate. Sucks lol.

yeah. vivian = americanized and vivienne = french IMO.
i knew a girl whose name was carolina (pronounced with the "LEE"). while some people mispronounced it at first, everyone got the hang of it. i feel like no one would ever pronounce vivienne correctly.

I said no to 'Cate,' because I don't like the spelling. I really like 'Kate,' though.

I really don't like Dagney. It sounds so much like the old Norwegian name Dagny. It makes me think of ladies in their 90s.

Sasha is one of my favourite names, but I prefer it on boys.
