[identity profile] morgainlefee.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
A friend of mine and his wife had a baby girl this morning.

Kathryn Christine.

Thoughts?

too many r, h, t 's
Basically they look too similar, only that Kathryn is kr8vv and Christine is traditional, so they also clash.

It sounds nice, though.
I don't even think Katherine Christine would have been much better, visually.

My daughters middle name is Kathryn.
I never knew it was a kr8vv way of spelling it.
It's my moms first name and any other spelling of it looks weird to me.

Well, nowadays it's not that creative anymore, but compared to Christine, the equivalent version would have been Catherine. It looks too modern next to Christine.

Hm. Not a big fan of Kathryn, esp that spelling, but that's more just personal preference. That's really not that bad. Those names go well together.

I'm not a fan of the double k sound, but i love katherine. i prefer the katherine spelling, but kathryn is probably the only non traditional spelling of a name that doesn't make me cringe.

I like it a lot. I'm not huge on that spelling of Kathryn (bad association), but I don't really consider it a "creative" spelling as it's pretty commong.

It's odd to me that both names could be spelled with a C or a K and they picked one of each.

I think that both names are equivalent to eachother... so, not terribly fond :)
