Does anyone not like the name Charlotte? It's so popular and most people on here seem to like it, but I *really* don't.
I also think Charlie/Charlee are really ugly nicknames.
WDYT? I can't figure out why I feel this way!

I like Charlotte, but it's becoming overly trendy. I agree that Charlie/Charlee and other variants are ugly nicknames. I've known of 2 girls with the name Charly, and that was their real name. I was not a fan!

I don't like it. I don't really know why, I just don't think it's pretty. Plus, it's pretty common here, too.

I've never been a fan of Charlotte or Charles. They're not my least favourite names ever, but I just don't like them. I tend not to like names that have the "ar" sound in them, especially girls names.

But I do quite like Charlie as a nickname ... reminds me of Charlie Weasley, and he's one of my favourite Weasleys ;)

I love Charlotte, but I don't like Charlie as a nn; it's cute but too masculine for me. I prefer Lottie.

I hate the name Charlotte, I've known some really awful Charlottes and that put me off for life. I don't mind Charlie though, although I like it better as a NN for Charles. Charlee should be returned to the pit of hell from whence it came.

I've never been a huge fan of Charlotte -- it's just not my style.

I like the way it looks on paper.

But, I am living in a place where the "ar" sound is not really pronounced; the resulting pronunciation really seems like a whole different name than the one that I have in my head, which kind of throws me.

I used to like Charlotte a lot but it's so popular now that I'd never use it. Besides now when I hear the name, it reminds me of the girl from Sex and the City (even though I never watch it lol).

IMO, Lotte is the best option for a nickname. That's what I would have used anyway.

My best friend's name is Charlotte Kate. We call her Char.

My future daughter's name will be Alessa Charlotte.

I love the name, haha.

I don't like it. I tried to, because it's the kind of name I would like in theory, but I couldn't warm up to it.

I generally don't like names with the soft H sound, like anything with CH, SH, or TH (with the exception of Nathan). The only nickname I would like for it is Lottie, but in generally it's not one of my favorite names at all.

It's an awful name as a child, and I still think it's awkward to say when I tell people my name.

It is a nice name.

But I really don't like it.

Can't say why...
