Keep meaning to share this one: Virgina Fishburne C____y.
My best friend in high school was Virginia (Gigi) Fishburne C____y. Her mom was a huge fan of Laurence Fishburne and used it for a middle name. You can imagine Gigi didn't share her MN with many people.
Also, I'd like to use a more professional and feminine name for my name (Casey). But as Casey is my given name, I'm not sure what it'd be a nickname for. I've always thought it "only" came from Cassandra (as there was a girl in 4th grade who beat me up for "stealing" her name, and she was Casey, short for Cassandra).
Anyway, any suggestions on a more formal (and preferably feminine) name that Casey could be a NN for?
Also, what are your favorite names starting with the letters "F", "Z" and "K"? (Trying to come up with names I'm not usually drawn to for some character naming)
Thanks all.

Date: 2008-09-30 02:47 am (UTC)And I have family with the names Christina and Caroline so those wouldn't work. I love Charlotte, but again I'm at a loss as to how Casey would be a nn for that?

Date: 2008-09-30 03:29 am (UTC)But that's just a side note. I agree with you-it's going to be very hard to find a name that it actually "makes sense" for Casey to be a nn for.

Date: 2008-09-30 03:44 am (UTC)I actually had never even heard of Casey for Cassandra. Cassandra has always translated to Cassie for me. Casey is just Casey.

Date: 2008-09-30 12:26 pm (UTC)Yeah, that ;) lol :)
I've recently heard "Cassie" for Cassandra, which makes more sense to me. But for 10 years I heard "Casey" for Cassandra so it's hard adjusting lol.

Date: 2008-09-30 03:55 am (UTC)Maybe she just wanted to know the logic so she could use it? I'm interested in people's thought process behind nns and love unique ones. I'm sorry, but that seems really oversensitive to me.

2. to reprimand or berate harshly; censure; excoriate
I didn't beat you, I didn't whip you. I didn't reprimand or berate you harshly. Nor did anyone else here. You were uber offended that I had a different opinion from you, not that I had a "tone" with you. Because you can not hear tone on the internet. (But just in case you're at a total loss for it, I do have a tone in this comment).
And I apologized to you before you gave me what I 'deserve', and that seems to be all you were looking for. So why wait until you have the chance to be agressive with me over a difference of opinion to tell everyone it's alright?

Date: 2008-09-30 07:01 am (UTC)I've known a few girls named Casey and it wasn't short for anything, it was just Casey. nicknames were Cass, Case, and Ace.

Date: 2008-09-30 12:36 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's what I'm thinking is that it kind of can't be a nn for anything else. But maybe there's something from it I can use.
Thanks :)

Date: 2008-09-30 03:36 am (UTC)The name Casey is a baby girl name. The name Casey comes from the French origin. In French The meaning of the name Casey is: Diminutive of Catherine: Pure, clear. Form of the Latin Katharina, from the Greek Aikaterina.
Not sure how accurate that is but hey, they are options I suppose!
