Poor McKenzie McKnight.

I like seeing Judson on there. It's my son's middle name. I don't see it much.

"why are people so obsessed with apostrophes these days?"

Well duh, it's because things like "j'niyah" would look plain silly spelled "janiyah"

YOU CANNOT PUT LETTERS TOGETHER AND HOPE A NAME COMES OUT OF IT. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

Lilly Elizabeth and Blake Charles are probably the nicest names on the list.

And the parent named Nefer Titti?? Really? Poor lady.

"YOU CANNOT PUT LETTERS TOGETHER AND HOPE A NAME COMES OUT OF IT. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!"

I think as long as it's phonetically pronounceable, and isn't too ridiculous, then why not. All names are created, whether past or present. I don't think we should only have to use the names of the past that we're familiar with, just because they've been around longer.
I think as long as a name is decipherable, and has a good nick name, then so be it.

Many of those names are eye popping out there and not my taste, but they're also not my children.
I believe if a parent is going to use a name that isn't 'old school', then they should be cautious and think it through, and be courteous, for the sake of their child.

JMO.

Sorry but not all names were simply created as you put it. Names are generally derived from words in other languages, hence their meanings.

Putting a bunch of letters together does not create a legit name. It doesn't even mean anything. Half of the poor kids up there cann never google the origin of their name because mom made that sh*t up. There are a few that were invented and made famous by literary pieces, like Vanessa, Jessica and Amanda, but at least they have a claim to fame and were not thought up by a bored teenager in her bedroom.

I don't see the appeal of apostrophes either. It always makes me wonder how to pronounce those names, and I just don't like the way names with apostrophes look.
Take A'rihana, for example. What's wrong with Ariana? Or, if you want it to be a little different: Arianah? I assume it's pronounced the same way and it looks less ridiculous.

I do like:

Annie Jean
Jillian Kate
Aubrey Janel

Pippa-Rayne...I actually think that's cute, but I'm glad it's not her first name (although Kelseamarie isn't a great first name either).

i never understood the apostrophes either. i've never seen a name where the apostrophes were absolutely necessary.

i like these names:

mia
alexander
ryan
brooks - i like this a lot, but i've always thought it sounded kind of..snobby and rich? i don't know. =/
blake
charles
reese
kate
ethan
james
parker

some of these names are just completely made up.
