Do not want! It would be a fun nickname, like Sport or something, but it's just an over-the-top given name. I knew a kid named Maverick after the main character in Top Gun, and he was short, chubby, and shy. He was the antithesis of a maverick, and he hated his name.

I once watched a Maverick Blackhawk in a hockey game. It's one of those names that you look at and you go 'omg cool' but I wouldn't want it to be my name and I would never name my child that.
