[identity profile] sexxie-dork.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband and I just found out that we are having a girl (due in February), but can't come up with names. We'd like something different, not too unique, but we don't want there to be 25 other little girls with the same name. Unfortunately, the only names we can agree on so far are common ones:

Sophia
Olivia

He also likes Sienna, which I like, but I'm not a fan of the meaning.

Other names I like:
Mina
Avery

Not sure what the middle name will be yet. I might possibly be adding another Marie tally to the middle names of the world, but it's my grandmother's first name, my mother's middle name (first girl), and my middle name (first girl), so I'd like to continue that.

Any suggestions?

If it helps, our last name is Norman =]

Maybe you should find a name that's like, another form of Marie. That way it'd still be special, and you'd know, but it wouldn't be another middle name Marie.

From those names, I like Mina the most, just because it's not so common and trendy. Other suggestions are Eliza, Amelia, Lenora, Rowena, Johanna, Caroline/a, Moira, Matilda, Acacia and I second Ramona.

Somebody had a post on here a couple of days ago, and they had a link to a website with all these different forms of a name that they liked. I don't actually know how reliable it is, but if it is, there seems to be a lot: : http://www.behindthename.com/php/related.php?name=marie . I like Antoinette a lot more than Marie actually; it's so much more distinct.

And wait, her name was Marie Antoinette?
