2 Weeks! Yikes!

I have a baby boy on the way, due in 2 weeks, and only now have I realized that I really don't like the name I have settled on months ago. Here is some info on what I'm dealing with: 1. We do not like traditional names (Michael, Bill, or anything like that just doesn't appeal to us).
2. His father is of the African American descent and he would like his son to have a "tough" guy kind of name (it's apparently a male ego thing, so we don't want a 'sissy' name...whatever that means...I guess Joey or Tommy won't fly)
3. His father's name is Jeremy Lorenzo...yea, I hate that name too, so if we have to, we'll use 1 or the other as a middle name
4. We already have a baby girl, her name is Kiannah Amaya ...if possible, we'd like to stay away from names that are close in sound, like Kamuri or Micah (both have been suggested, we don't like it)

To me Hayden is completely a girl's name. It is very feminine sounding. I really really love Demitri, it's masculine and unique.

Deandre is awfully common for my tastes, I hear it SO much. Ditto with Hayden, and also Hayden is popular as a girl's name. Landon I don't like so much. Damian CAN be good...but...hmm.

Demitri is my favorite of the listed, and as a name I like it alot.

Hayden and Landon do not say "tough guy" to me at all...though they are my favorite names on that list.

I do not like Dimitri or Deandre at all, but Damian is okay.

If you're looking for a 'tough guy' name, I'd stay away from Hayden. Not only is it very very very common, it's also become sort of unisex. Not in a traditional sense, but in the sense that people don't seem to care thatit's a boy's name -- they still use it on girls.

Landon, too, just doesn't give me that tough guy image.

Damian is nice, I think. What about:

None of those names strike me as particularly "tough guy" (FTR, I prefer "strong"; that language bothers me), but especially not Hayden, which, as many have pointed out, is often used on girls.

I know Omen spelled it Damien, but that will always be the name of an evil little devil child to me. =/

hayden is a fabulous name, it's my brothers name. it sounds really manly and strong to me, it always sounds off when someone names a girl that.

I must be in the same boat as you lol cuz the only people I have met named Hayden are guys, and it does sounf off on girls, but that's just my (and apparently) you opinion. Glad we're not alone :)
