[identity profile] bmwbabe007.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Well, I'm not pregnant nor do my husband and I plan on having kids in the too-near future, but I did come across this community while looking for dog names! :) And I've always liked names for whatever reason - I'm always curious to see what my pregnant friends & relatives will name their kids. I never thought it would be so hard to name a puppy, but its ridiculously difficult to come up with cute girl names that I would never want to use for a baby later on. I was pretty set on using Sadie until I found out that everyone and their sister has a dog named Sadie! Back to square one.

But just so this post has some names in it, here's a few!

My absolute favorites, probably will name a daughter this someday:
Stella May
Nora Grace

My favorite boy names:
Owen
Kyle Robert
Jonathan Diego

Names of my cousin & sister-in-law's children:
Sebastian Kolbe
Ava Bradley
Zoe Marie
Mia
(can't remember Mia's middle name for the life of me, but Zoe & Mia are twins)

We named our girl dog rowan [who we just gave the middle name marie, for when she's in trouble!] Rowan was the name of a few different characters in different books that we liked.
Our boy cats were siren and remix [siren because he wailed all the way home, and remix because he was our thrid black and white cats, only with different markings.]
Typically for pets i prefer to not use people names, because i don't want those associations to get mixed up. =) Rowan was the exception, though i don't know why. It might have just been the only name we agreed on.

Your cousin's and sister in law's children could have been our childrens names! We love all 4 of those.

My friend's middle name is Robbert because it's his mom's maiden name, and my cousin is Colton Dean for the same reason.

I hate that Sadie is so popular for dogs. I love it for a baby. :(

Ditto on the dog thing. I don't know if I could do it for a child tho. When I was growing up our dog was named Riley and now it's an insanely popular girls name.

I had a pregnancy scare a while back, and suddenly the name Sadie was in my head. it was neverrrrr something I'd considered before, but BAM. I was like "If I'm pregnant, and it's a girl, her name is Sadie." NO IDEA where I got it from. It was just... there. So now, i don't know if I'd ever ACTUALLY use it. I feel like I'll get pregnant one day, and just KNOW what the name is supposed to be. Meh

My name is Sarah, but my fiance has taken to calling me Sadie (Mostly because I'm sadistic, but it is also a NN for Sarah :)

I have a kitten named Bindi and I get so many compliments on her name it's nuts. It's a beautiful, feminine name (like the Croc hunter's daughter) but I would never use it on a kid. Now I can't imagine Bindi as anything else.
