I just moved to North Carolina recently (well okay, it's been a month now). I was watching the local news earlier, I can't remember the station, and one of the anchors is named...

Neal McNeal.

OUCH.

That's even worse than rhyming the first and last name.

Sorry, I just had to share that.

I hope for his sake that he's like my friend's uncle, Phil Phillips, and his "first name" is just a nickname derived from his last name.

And hello, fellow NC-transplant. I'm a few months into my seventh year here. It's grown on me.

Wow. With a name like that he'd sort of HAVE to be a news anchor, wouldn't he? That, or a Vegas lounge act. :X

We have news anchor Robin Robinson (I don't know how she spells it) and I guess it is her real name, because I heard her making fun of her parents for choosing it once.

There's a car dealership in my area called David McDavid. I always sort of assumed they picked the name for advertising/easy to remember.
