Girl P names

My father's name was Paul.

We would like to give the baby a middle name for my father.  If it is a boy, that's easy.  But what about a girl?  I'm not too into Paulette/Pauline/Paula... but, honestly, I haven't found any P names that I like for girls, except Priya, which I love, but since we aren't Indian, I would feel weird giving the baby that name.

Are there any P girl names that aren't awful?

I like classic names that are not super popular, although I'll admit that I do love some of the ones that are super popular right now (Isabella, Sophia, etc).  Generally I like traditional names that are... I don't know how to describe it, maybe pretty sounding?  Multi-syllables?  Names like Rebecca, Arianna, Joanna, Hannah, Molly...  I guess they all have soft sounds.  Anyway, any suggestions?

Philippa (or with one P), nickname Pippa. I love Priya too, but I can see your point when it comes to that one...

I do like Philippa, although I'm not sure about nn for a middle name-- it's not like I'll be using it that often! But Pippa is very cute.

It makes me think of Anne of Green Gables-- wasn't one of Anne's good friends named Philippa? I haven't read those books in years....

Patricia, Paloma, Pallas, Pamela, Pandora, Patrice, Pearl, Perlita, Perdita, Phyllis, Pia (literally means "girl" in Danish, but is a fairly common German girl's name), Phoebe, Petra, Portia, Priscilla

I actually do like Paula, however, and I think it would make a lovely middle name, although I understand if it's not appealing to you.

Perdita always makes me think of 101 Dalmations. And Pia (which was my neighbor's dog's name growing up) makes me think of the pia mater which covers the brain (I'm a Biologist!). Maybe my problem isn't finding a name whose sound I like, but finding one for which I don't already have associations!

I'm considering that one.. I also like Penelope but I hate Penny as a nickname (it was my cousin's dog's name).

But I like Paula too.. I think it's because I had a camper i liked named Paula. All my name ideas are from kids I had at camp who I liked, it's kinda funny.

Well, his middle name was Martin, and he hated it. And Paul means "small" so it isn't the best in terms of meaning. Although I have looked for names meaning small, I think that is an interesting route to go since I don't really love many P names.

Oh! Is there anything that reminds you of your dad? For instance, if roses reminded you of him you could use the name Rosalyn. Or what words describe him? Maybe use those to find a name instead of small/little!
